Abstract: An electronic device is configured to be coupled to a capacitor bank in a power system network. The electronic device includes a first switch, a second switch, and a damping circuit in series with the second switch. The damping circuit includes a passive damping circuit and a thyristor that is in parallel with the passive damping circuit. Related methods and circuits are also described.
