Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling the uplink power of a mobile station. In the method for controlling uplink power of a mobile station in a wireless communication system, an uplink control channel allocated by a base station is received. A location at which power control information is to be received is determined based on the uplink control channel. Uplink power is controlled based on the power control information at the determined location.
