Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for provisioning a common subnet across a number of subscribers and their respective virtual networks using dynamically generated network policies that provide isolation between the subscribers. The dynamic generation of the network policies is performed when a host (e.g. client) is detected (via a switch) as the host joins the computing network via virtual networks. This ability to configure a common subnet for all the subscriber virtual networks allows these subscribers to more easily access external shared services coming from a headquarter site while keeping the separation and segmentation of multiple subscriber virtual networks within a single subnet. This allows the Enterprise fabric to be more simple and convenient to deploy without making security compromises.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for identifying a spanning tree loop in a network environment. Spanning tree loop indicators occurring in a network environment that utilizes a spanning tree protocol are identified. The spanning tree loop indicators are correlated to identify correlated spanning tree loop indicators within the network environment. A potential spanning tree loop is recognized from a plurality of the correlated spanning tree loop indicators based on indicator types of the correlated spanning tree loop indicators. The potential spanning tree loop is remedied in the network environment in response to recognizing the potential spanning tree loop in the network environment.

The method may include: receiving a sensor application by a network platform, the network platform comprising a processing module and a plurality of ports, and wherein a first portion of the processing module is allocated to an operating system of the network platform; allocating a second portion of the processing module to the sensor application by the network platform; executing the sensor application by the second portion of the processing module; emulating a port of the plurality of ports by the second portion of the processing module; and allowing the executed sensor application to interact with the operating system through the emulated port.
