Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for GPS attack prevention in association with wireless communication devices. In at least one embodiment, a method may include receiving, at a mobile device from a first access point (AP), first location information and one or more of a first token or first neighbor information relating to neighboring APs. The mobile device may receive from a second AP, second location information and one or more of a second token or second neighbor information relating to neighboring APs. The first token may be compared to the second token to determine whether the first and second tokens are consistent, and/or the first neighbor information may be compared to the second neighbor information to determine whether the first and second neighbor information are consistent. It may be determined whether the first location information provided by the first AP and the second location information provided by the second AP are valid based on the comparison(s).

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises: classifying, by a controller device, a first access point device in a WLAN as a leader access point for a wireless client device, and at least a second access point device as a follower access point; and allocating, to the leader access point, a shortened medium access control layer timer (“timer”) that is shorter than a prescribed timer used by the follower access point, the shortened timer causing the leader access point to respond to reception of a wireless data packet from the wireless client device by transmitting an acknowledgment to the wireless client device upon expiration of the shortened timer; the prescribed timer causing the follower access point to defer to the leader access point based on the follower access point waiting for at least expiration of the prescribed timer before selectively transmitting a corresponding acknowledgment in response to receiving the wireless data packet.

Abstract: Techniques are described to provide to discourage use of an unlicensed spectrum channel by Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) technologies. In one example, a method includes performing a plurality of wireless transmissions for an unlicensed channel, wherein performing the plurality of wireless transmissions comprises: determining whether a next wireless transmission is proximate to a Discovery Reference Signal (DRS) transmission window; based on determining that the next wireless transmission is proximate to the DRS transmission window, determining whether the unlicensed channel is available; and based on determining that the unlicensed channel is available, starting the next wireless transmission before the DRS transmission window, wherein the next wireless transmission overlaps the DRS transmission window.
