    Abstract: A system operative to synchronize wireless transmissions between a base station and a plurality of wireless client devices using a plurality of twisted pairs. The system includes a base station located in a first area and comprising a medium access controller (MAC) functionality; a plurality of twisted pairs; and a plurality of converters located in other areas, in which the plurality of twisted pairs are operative to connect the base station with the plurality of converters, thereby forming a star topology. The base station is configured to determine a transmission plan to be followed by the base station and a plurality of wireless client devices associated with the base station. The base station is configured to distribute the transmission plan via the plurality of twisted pairs and converters to the wireless client devices, thereby synchronizing wireless transmissions between the base station and at least some of the wireless client devices.

    Abstract: An access point is located in a first room together with a local plurality of antennas. A plurality of power boosters are located in a second room together with a peripheral plurality of antennas. A wire-based medium connects the first and second rooms. The access point uses the local antennas to transmit wirelessly, in the first room, a plurality of spatially-multiplexed streams, thereby allowing a receiving wireless device in the first room to decode the streams. The access point injects into the wire-based medium, in the first room, a plurality of signals derived respectively from the streams, which are then transported to the second room. The boosters then power-boost the signals extracted from the wire-based medium in the second room, and the peripheral antennas transmit wirelessly, in the second room, the now-power-boosted signals, thereby allowing another receiving wireless device, in the second room, to decode the same plurality of streams.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for using spatial multiplexing in conjunction with a coaxial cable deployed in-house. Input streams associated with spatial multiplexing are converted into respective signals occupying different respective frequencies. The signals are transported, via a coaxial cable deployed in-house, into a certain room located in-house, thereby enabling a presence of the plurality of signals in the certain room. The signals are shifted into respective output signals that occupy a single wireless frequency by up-converting each signal from the corresponding different frequency into the single wireless frequency. The output signals are transmitted wirelessly, using only the single wireless frequency, via respective antennas located in the certain room, all said antennas operating in conjunction with the single wireless frequency, thereby achieving spatial multiplexing in the certain room and in conjunction with the coaxial cable.

    Abstract: A method for ubiquitously covering a selected area with a single wireless communication channel. At least two wireless converters are placed at different locations to provide an aggregated wireless coverage area, the wireless converters covering wirelessly only a respective portion of a selected area with least two portions at least partially overlapping. An OFDM base station transmits a sequence of OFDM signals simultaneously via at least two distribution lines, each OFDM signal modulated by sub-carriers. The wireless converters simultaneously receive, via respective distribution lines, the OFDM signals from the OFDM base station, and up-convert a respective OFDM signal into an RF band to re-transmit wirelessly the respective OFDM signal. At least two re-transmissions of each OFDM signal arrive at a wireless client device. Each sub-carrier from each OFDM signal re-transmission can combine with the respective sub-carrier of the other re-transmissions of said respective OFDM signal, thereby facilitating said ubiquitous coverage.
