Abstract: A retainer sleeve configured for use in a retainer system for a ground engaging tool includes a plurality of plate-like sections, each section being flexibly joined with an adjacent section along either a radially inner edge or a portion of a radially outer edge. The radially inner edges of the plurality of sections form part of a segmented inner surface configured for engagement with an outer surface of a locking member of the retainer system. The inner surface extends partially around a central axis of the retainer sleeve to form a substantially C-shaped retainer sleeve having opposite circumferential ends that are spaced from each other. The radially outer edges of the plurality of sections form part of a segmented, frustoconical outer surface configured for engagement in an internal lock cavity of a ground engaging tool tip.

Abstract: A wear indicator is provided for a wear member of a machine wherein the wear member is subject to wear during use of the machine. The wear indicator may include a plug member configured to be positioned in a region of the wear member subject to wear. The plug member may be oriented with a central axis extending in a direction substantially parallel to a direction of wear of the wear member. The wear indicator may include a plurality of perceptibly different and distinct axial cross sections taken perpendicular to the central axis of the plug member in axially spaced planes along the central axis.

Abstract: A wear member for a tool may have a generally planar first wear member portion defining an opening. The first wear member portion may also have a first inward surface defining a projection adjacent the opening for removably coupling the wear member to a mounting base attached to the tool. The wear member may also have a generally planar second wear member portion extending from the first wear member portion in a direction generally perpendicular to the first wear member portion. The second wear member portion may also have a second inward surface contiguous with the first inward surface. The first and second inward surfaces may define a receiving pocket configured to receive the mounting base, and the projection may be positioned completely within the receiving pocket.
