摘要: The present application describes a method and apparatus for managing a service in a service layer. In particular, a method describes a computer readable storage medium including instructions for managing a service in a service layer where the instructions are executed by a processor. The executed instructions cause the processor to receive a request to manage, via a service enabler function of the service layer, a change of state of the service including adding, removing, activating, or deactivating the service. The request may include a service description. The executed instructions also cause the processor to evaluate, via the service enabler function, the service description comprising identifiers of one or more services to manage. The executed instructions further cause the processor to identify one or more service capabilities in the service layer to assist in managing the one or more services identified in the service description. A request may be sent and/or may instruct the one or more service capabilities to perform the change of state of the one or more services identified in the service description.

摘要: Lightweight, dynamic mechanisms are provided to support service layer interworking and resource extensibility. For example, one mechanism disclosed herein comprises defining a new service layer (SL) resource definition registration procedure that allows for specifying custom attributes of service layer resources to represent third party technology resources. A second mechanism disclosed herein comprises defining a new SL data model mapping registration procedure to map service layer resources to third party data models and to provide a new interworked retargeting indicator to the service layer. Further, a third mechanism disclosed herein comprises defining a SL generic interworking procedure to intelligently retarget requests toward interworked resources based on the interworked retargeting indicator provided by the data model mapping.

摘要: The present application is at least directed to a networked apparatus. The apparatus includes a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon for processing a discovery request message for a resource on the network. The apparatus also includes a processor, operably coupled to the non-transitory memory, configured to perform a set of instructions. One instruction includes receiving the discovery request message from an originator including filter criteria. Another instruction includes checking whether any resources match the filter criteria in the discovery request message. A further instruction includes preparing a discovery response. The present application is also directed to a method for processing a discovery request message for a resource on the network. The present application is further directed an apparatus and method for performing discovery of a common service entity.

摘要: Service layer multicast communications management may be achieved via indication by entities of multicast capabilities during service layer registration and self-subscription by the entities to the service layer. The service layer, or a managing application in communication with the service layer, may then maintain resources for multicast configurations, dynamically create multicast groups, and notify members via their self-subscription of the entities in the groups. The service layer may then further fan-out multicast messages, thereby allowing the originator of the multicast message to access recipients in multiple underlying networks without the need to configure communications directly. Fan-out may include unicasts to entities lacking multicast capabilities. Self-subscription may also be used, for example, in granting access control to a third party application.

摘要: Various mechanisms are disclosed for a service domain charging system that can interact with underlying networks. A service domain charging architecture is defined with several logical functions. Service-based charging types may be and applied to existing event, session, online, and offline charging mechanisms. Service domain charging messages may be exchanged over the X, Y, Z reference points. An E reference point may be used for interfacing with a service domain billing system, and a B reference point may be used between a service domain billing system and underlying network's billing system.
