Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure provide an effect display method and apparatus, an electronic device and a storage medium, the corresponding custom asset file is acquired in response to the triggering of the target effect; the target effect is configured to display at least one frame of effect image; the custom asset file is loaded through the resource reference interface of the target effect to obtain the association relationship list corresponding to the target effect; and according to the association relationship list, corresponding association relationship information is acquired from the server, and the corresponding effect image is generated based on the association relationship information, and the association relationship information represents the user identifier of the associated user having the association relationship with the current user. The custom asset file is utilized to achieve the decoupling of the step of acquiring the user information.
