Abstract: Systems and methods of providing policy and charging control in an information-centric network are described. An interest packet is transmitted from a content consumer to a holder through a gNB, ICN-PoA and ICN-GW. The interest packet has a prefix identifying content to be retrieved and a type field indicating an interest packet. The ICN-PoA modifies the interest packet to include a type of service (TS) field having the identity of the consumer and then transmitted to the ICN-GW when the content is neither created nor cached inside the 5G network. A data packet that includes the prefix, a type field indicating a data packet and the TS field is returned from the ICN-GW. The data packet is modified by the ICN-PoA to remove the TS field and transmitted to the consumer. The interest and data packets are logged and reported to an ICN-CF for generation of charging records.

Abstract: Non-pre-provisioned cellular Internet of things (IoT) devices can be added to an existing user's subscription with an operator and a service provider. The procedure can include obtaining a security association between a device and a user's smartphone using the operator's network. The operator and the service provider can verify the device with a certificate authority. In one embodiment, the smartphone reads (302) a URL pointer to the device certification and sends it (304) to the MME. The MME forwards (306) the URL to the HSS. The HSS verifies (312) the certificate and derives security credentials including the Master key K′. The HSS also derives another key K″ used to establish security context between the IoT device and the smartphone. The device uses its key deriving function KDF with K′ and Rand to generate K″.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for use in a wireless network for compression and decompression of information centric network (ICN) names and/or ICN common fields at Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. For example, an electronic device can include processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry coupled to the processor circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to receive a first information centric network (ICN) packet including an ICN name or an ICN common field and compress the ICN name or the ICN common field at a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. The processor circuitry can be further configured to provide the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field to a lower protocol layer. The radio front end circuitry can be configured to transmit a second ICN packet including the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field.

Abstract: Systems and methods of handover in an information-centric network are described.
