摘要: Embodiments described herein relate to managing access to 5G cellular baseband resources for 5G-capable wireless devices. A wireless device can monitor application workloads by analyzing communication network performance requirements for a given application in-use or launching for future use along with system-level indications of overall device usage, battery level, and mobility status to determine whether access to 5G cellular baseband resources is recommended for an application. A 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is provided for an application indicating a level of bandwidth in current use or expected for future use as well as a confidence metric in the bandwidth level indication. The 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is used with additional device criteria to determine whether access to one or more 5G radio frequency bands is allowed.

摘要: A method for setting up communications forwarding is provided. The method can include determining that a wireless communication device having a first telephone number associated with a first country is being operated in a second country and that a second telephone number associated with the second country has been activated on the wireless communication device. The method can further include, responsive to the determination, sending a forwarding request from the wireless communication device to a network to request activation of forwarding of communications directed to the first telephone number to the second telephone number.

摘要: Embodiments described herein relate to dynamic selection of radio access technologies (RATs) available for use by 5G wireless devices. Managing selection of RATs to use by a 5G (and 4G LTE) capable wireless device can improve performance, e.g., when an application requires a higher throughput and a 5G SA connection underperforms a 5G NSA connection or a 4G LTE connection. Wireless devices can provide geolocation tagged cellular wireless network information, e.g., network performance measurements and observed properties, to network-based servers that collate and organize the crowd-sourced cellular wireless network information into a location database. The wireless device can use the cellular wireless network information of the location database for a geolocation at which the wireless device is operating to estimate performance for alternate wireless connections and compare to measured performance of a currently used wireless connection to determine whether to switch wireless RAT connections.

摘要: Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to implement a dynamic discard timer. The user equipment may generate a packet for transmission and store the packet in a buffer of the user equipment. The user equipment may then generate a timeout value for a discard timer for the buffer, where the discard timer discards the packet from the buffer when the timeout value is reached. After a predetermined amount of time, the user equipment may determine whether the packet has been discarded from the buffer and, when it is determined that the packet has not been discarded from the buffer, update the timeout value.
