Abstract: Embodiments describe an eartip including an eartip body having an attachment end and an interfacing end opposite from the attachment end, and including an inner eartip body and an outer eartip body. The inner eartip body has a sidewall that extends between the interfacing end and the attachment end, and includes a groove formed in an outer surface of the sidewall. The outer eartip body is sized and shaped to be inserted into an ear canal and extends from the interfacing end toward the attachment end of the eartip.

Abstract: A system and method are described for transforming stereo signals into mid and side components xm and xs to apply processing to only the side-component xs and avoid processing the mid-component. By avoiding alteration to the mid-component XM, the system and method may reduce the effects of ill-conditioning, such as coloration that may be caused by processing a problematic mid component xM while still performing crosstalk cancellation and/or generating virtual sound sources. Additional processing may be separately applied to the mid and side components xM and xs and/or particular frequency bands of the original stereo signals to further reduce ill-conditioning.

Abstract: A method for headphone playback of target sound. Some of the bins of a sound file are accessed, wherein the sound file has several bins each bin storing a number of audio sections. Audio sections are selected from the accessed bins, and mixed while cross fading to form a target sound sequence. A headphone speaker is driven with the target sound sequence. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A wearable audio output device includes a first portion configured to be inserted in a user's ear and a second portion that extends from the first portion and includes one or more input devices. The wearable audio output device detects an input via the one or more input devices. In response to detecting the input, and in accordance with a determination that the input is a swipe gesture along the second portion of the wearable audio output device, the wearable audio output device adjusts an output volume for the wearable audio output device based on movement of the swipe gesture along the second portion of the wearable audio output device.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing, a display at least partially within the housing, a cover positioned over the display and defining an input surface of the electronic device, a motion sensing system configured to detect a motion of the electronic device, and a touch sensor configured to detect, within a time window after the motion of the electronic device is detected, a contact of an input member of a user on the input surface of the electronic device. The electronic device is configured to determine, for a time prior to the detection of the contact, a relative motion between the input member and the input surface. In accordance with a determination that a characteristic of the relative motion satisfies a threshold condition, the electronic device may determine a second input location based at least in part on the location of the contact and the relative motion.

Abstract: A wearable audio output device is in a respective physical environment and in communication with an electronic device. While one or more audio properties of the respective physical environment satisfy first audio criteria, the wearable audio output device provides audio output corresponding to the first audio criteria, the audio output including: audio corresponding to audio content from the electronic device at a first device-content audio level; and audio corresponding to ambient sound from the respective physical environment at a first ambient-sound audio level. Abstract: An electronic device whose enclosure or housing panel is used as part of an acoustic system is described. The panel is divided into several sub-panels. For each sub-panel, the device includes one or more actuators attached to vibrate the sub-panel. The actuator and its attached sub-panel convert an audio signal to acoustic output. Each actuator and sub-panel combination may receive a separate audio signal. The device includes a digital signal processor for controlling each of the sub-panel driving audio signals. The device may further include one or more backing frames that are attached to the panel to provide boundary conditions to the sub-panels. The boundary conditions define a resonance frequency for each sub-panel.

Abstract: A wearable audio output device that includes a microphone and one or more input devices detects an input via the one or more input devices. In response to detecting the input and in accordance with a determination that the input is a first type of input, the wearable audio output device adjusts a mute state of the microphone for a first audio function that uses the microphone without adjusting the mute state of the microphone for a second audio function that uses the microphone. In response to detecting the input and in accordance with a determination that the input is not the first type of input, the wearable audio output device forgoes adjusting the mute state of the microphone for the first audio function that uses the microphone.
