Abstract: A wireless power transmitter can include a wireless power transfer coil, an inverter that receives an input DC voltage and outputs an AC voltage to the wireless power transfer coil so as to deliver power to a wireless power receiver, and a communications module configured to communicate with the wireless power receiver by transmitting and receiving messages requesting, selecting, or confirming one of a plurality of power profiles of the wireless power transmitter, the plurality of power profiles corresponding to a gain measurement mode, a nominal mode that delivers a relatively higher power level, and a light load mode that delivers a relatively lower power level.
