Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for continuing playback of a digital tutorial until a user interrupts the playback by signaling to the system that there is an issue or that the user needs help. The system, through detecting a recording that the user captured or a person's utterance (e.g., through passive voice monitoring) determines that the user's needs assistance with the digital tutorial. The system determines, based on the recording, that the user needs help to get to a specific step and play supplemental instructions to the user to get to the specific step.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for selecting one or more network-connected devices to provide device functions required by an event. A media guidance application may detect an event in which a user is currently engaged. The media guidance application may identify a set of device capabilities associated with the event. The media guidance application may search, within a plurality of network-connected devices of the user, to identify one or more devices that enable functions corresponding to the set of device capabilities to be perceptible to the user, and the media guidance application may instruct the identified one or more devices to provide the functions corresponding to the set of device capabilities associated with the event.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for adapting a second user input device to resemble a first user input device while preserving new functionalities not available in the first user input device. The systems and methods may identify, based on identifiers of the first and second user input devices, a first and second set of device functionalities provided by the devices. The systems and methods may compare the sets of device functionalities to determine a set of common device functionalities and, in response, modify the display of an input of the second user input device to correspond to visual attributes of an input of the first user input device.
