摘要: An electron beam window 20 is formed with six diamond panes 21 to transmit an electron beam 15. The panes 21 are formed in a cylindrical disc 17 of single crystal or of polycrystalline diamond such that each pane 21 is surrounded by a thicker integral peripheral rim 22 which conducts heat away from the panes 21. A heat sink ring 35 can be fitted to the outer cylindrical surface of the peripheral rim 22. A scanning means 36 indexes the electron beam 15 sequentially through each pane 21. The use of diamond panes reduces the electron beam energy converted to heat in each pane 21, the thicker peripheral rim 22 increases cooling of the panes 21, and the scanning movement 37 reduces the temperature rise of the panes 21.

摘要: A trail map directory for off-highway vehicles is disclosed. The directory includes a binder having a plurality of individual map pages laminated for dry ease writing and for ease of cleaning. A mechanism is provided for releasably attaching each map page to the binder. A key map is positioned towards the front of the binder, and the key map is subdivided into individual regional map display portions corresponding to the individual map pages. Each map page is preferably a substantially flat, relatively stiff laminated panel. The panel has first and second faces located on opposite surfaces thereof, and first and second side edges which define the width dimension of the panel. Each panel first face includes an enlarged map display portion indexed relative to the key map and is in the form of an enhanced topographical map overlaid with off-road trails present within the map boundary. The trails are color-coded to indicate relative difficulty of use. The first face further includes trail symbols relative to the indicated off-road trails. Each second face includes an index to trail symbols appearing on the first face. The second face may also include GPS coordinates pertinent to the geographical points on the topographical map as well as driving directions to the off-road trails. Finally, an apparatus is disposed along each panel first side edge for releasably attaching the panel to the binder for removal for individual use.

摘要: A kit for a recreational sport, comprising a substantially cylindrical bat including one or more positions between the first end and the second end for a ball stop located thereon, a ball with an outer surface defining a substantially cylindrical bore through the center of the ball, the bore having a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the bat and less than the diameter of the ball stop. The ball is slidingly engaged with the baseball bat such that the baseball bat hitting end is inserted into the bore of the ball. The present invention provides a method for a batter to position a ball for hitting or to deliver a ball directly to field of play and therefore provides a method for playing the game of baseball without a pitcher.

摘要: A self-repair system provides resource failure tolerance using an interconnection network that provides interconnection information identifying connections between system resources, redundant resources and ports that are connectable to consumers of the system resources. A controller identifies both defective system resources and the affected sinks connected to the defective system resources from the interconnection network. The controller further identifies compatible resources from the system resources and redundant resources that are capable of replacing the defective system resources for each of the affected sinks from the interconnection network. The controller determines a respective cost associated with each of the compatible resources, and in response to the determined costs, selects at least one of the compatible resources as a replacement resource for each of the defective system resources. The controller further configures the interconnection network to connect the replacement resources to the affected ports instead of the defective system resources.

The ball is slidingly engaged with the baseball bat such that the baseball bat hitting end is inserted through a bore through the ball, the ball can be tossed into the air in front of the batter with a flipping motion of the bat, and the batter can strike the ball with a batting motion to deliver the ball into the field of play.
