Abstract: Methods and apparatuses of handling a bandwidth part (BWP) inactivity timer during a Random Access procedure in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment (UE) starts a BWP timer for a serving cell operating in a paired spectrum. The UE initiates a contention-based Random Access (RA) procedure on the serving cell and stops the BWP timer. The UE starts the BWP timer upon successful completion of the RA procedure, wherein the UE considers the contention-based RA procedure successfully completed if a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) addressed to a Cell Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) of the UE is received and the PDCCH contains an uplink grant for a new transmission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE receives a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message from a network node, wherein the first RRC message is indicative of a first uplink (UL) Bandwidth Part (BWP) of a cell. In response to initiation of a procedure to use a configured grant (CG) resource in RRC inactive state, the UE performs BWP switching from a second UL BWP of the cell to the first UL BWP of the cell. The UE performs, on the first UL BWP, a first UL transmission using the CG resource. In response to completion of the procedure, the UE performs BWP switching from the first UL BWP of the cell to the second UL BWP of the cell.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a UE (User Equipment). In one embodiment, the method includes transmitting a Scheduling Request (SR) on a first uplink bandwidth part (BWP). The method further includes receiving a response for the SR on a first downlink BWP. The method also includes detecting a beam failure when using the first uplink BWP and the first downlink BWP. In addition, the method includes transmitting a beam failure recovery (BFR) request to a network node on the first uplink BWP. Furthermore, the method includes receiving a control signalling on a second downlink BWP from the network node after transmitting the BFR request, wherein the control signalling is a response for the BFR request and the second downlink BWP is associated with the first uplink BWP.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE initiates a Random Access (RA) procedure. The UE selects, from multiple carriers, a carrier for the RA procedure based on a measured Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP). The UE determines, based on the measured RSRP, whether or not to use a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) resource, associated with Message 3 (Msg3) repetition, for Message 1 (Msg1) transmission of the RA procedure, wherein the determination is performed after the selecting the carrier.
