Systems, graphical user interfaces and methods for upgrading from one or more digital media assets to a set of digital media assets over a network are described. A potential purchaser can be notified of available upgrade opportunities that are available for purchase. The potential purchaser can elect to pursue an upgrade opportunity so as to purchase a set of digital media assets. Upon upgrading to the set of digital media assets, the digital media assets within the set of digital media assets are made available to the purchaser. According to one aspect, a graphical user interface facilitates presenting and requesting upgrade opportunities. According to another aspect, equivalency rules and/or eligibility rules can be used to control which sets of digital media assets are available for upgrade by respective potential purchasers.

Systems and methods for testing application programs prior to production that enables the developer to internally test and beta test an application program. Furthermore, a potential tester may be added to a beta test list without providing information specific to a device or account information. Specifically, a tester may provide the developer with any contact information that allows the user to receive a beta test invitation. The beta test invitation may include a link that opens a beta testing application that allows the tester to enter account information that is sent to an organization that distributes the application program without sharing such information with the developer. The distributing organization then may create a provisioning profile that pairs the device with the tested application. Thus, the developer may add external testers even when the external testers do not want to share personal account information or have the ability to share device identification information with the developer.

Methods and systems for managing for migrating feedback data from one digital asset to another digital asset are disclosed. Typically, the one digital asset is available for distribution from a network-based media distribution system, but then subsequently is removed from distribution for any of a number of reasons. However, since the one digital asset has been in use at the network-based media distribution system, it has accumulated feedback data. Hence, if the another digital asset serves (e.g., due to equivalency) to replace the one digital asset, then the accumulated feedback data from the one digital asset can be transferred to the another digital asset. As a result, the another digital asset can benefit from the feedback data that was previously associated with the one digital assert.

A system and method for integrating media productions imported from a plurality of content provider systems are described. The system and method may communicate with a plurality of content provider systems to import a set of media productions from each content provider system and may normalize each media production into a normalized media document format. The media productions may be matched to each other based on the normalized media documents. The system and method may also create and store a plurality of canonical objects based on the matches determined for the media productions. For example, if a given media production matches one or more other media productions then all of the matching media productions may be linked together by a canonical object, e.g., so that the canonical object functions as an abstract representation of all of the matching media productions.

Systems and methods here include computer-implemented methods for determining ratings for software including displaying multiple content descriptors and options for user selection of both the frequency and intensity of the content in the software program by non-numerical selections. Some embodiments include receiving selections of user characterizations of frequency and intensity for each of the multiple content descriptors, and mapping the user characterization selections of each of the multiple content descriptors to find a rating level for each of the multiple content descriptors. Some embodiments include determining a highest rating level for the software program by comparing all of the rating levels of all of the multiple content descriptors, and distributing the software program to certain geographies based on the determined highest rating level for the software program.
