    摘要: A disposable strip dispenser for dispensing a single testing strip from a stack of testing strips is constructed with a housing and integrally formed magazine to hold a stack of testing strips. A cap assembly with a strip feeder mechanism is mounted to the housing to form a water proof chamber. The cap assembly is locked to the housing with a rib and channel locking assembly with the body of the cap assembly defining a slot and slide bar assembly slideably mounted in the slot. The slide bar assembly comprises a strip guide bar with a finger grip mount extending from the guide bar through the slot with the bottom of the guide bar engaging the topmost strip on a spring biased stack of strips allowing a single strip to be dispensed from the housing through an aperture defined in the cap assembly while maintaining the remaining strips of the stack of testing strips in a moisture free environment.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for increasing the sensitivity and accuracy of apparatus used in chemical analysis utilizing the colorimeter method. The method employs two or more light emitting diodes which emit light at different wavelengths. The emission wavelength of the L.E.D. is automatically switched to an L.E.D. which most closely matches any desired absorption band in the solution being analyzed so that more or less absorption will occur in each range. A logic circuit which utilizes the initial optical density to choose the proper L.E.D. for the particular range of concentration of chromophore. Thus, a green emitting diode may be used to register an initial color change and automatically switched to a red L.E.D. at any chosen concentration.

    摘要: A peristaltic pump for pumping fluids through a flexible tube is described which has a quick release and engagement mechanism that permits easy and rapid removal or insertion of the flexible tube into the device. The quick release and engagement mechanism of the invention consists of a shoe mounted for vertical displacement on the body of the pump. Upward movement of the shoe engages the flexible tube holding the fluid to be pumped and locks the tube against the roller assembly containing an eccentrically mounted roller which intermittently engages the tube and forces fluid out of it. To disengage the flexible tube from the pump, the shoe is moved downward out of contact with the flexible tube.
