Abstract: During operation a check is made, by utilizing a tuning function of tuning communication parameters, if communication parameters used for wireless communication with another movable unit are suitable. When the communication parameters are found to be unsuitable, new communication parameters are used for communication. Thus, the communication performance of the movable unit is improved to significantly reduce the steps to select the optimum communication parameters and permits the communication parameter selection while confirming the reliability of each communication parameter.

Abstract: A CDMA demodulator is disclosed, which comprises an AGC loop (13 to 20) including a IF signal converter (12) for converting a spread spectrum signal to an IF signal and an AGC amplifier (13) for variable gain amplifying the IF signal with a control voltage. The AGC loop also includes a power level calculating unit (17) for calculating the level of full power in the band of a channel under reception. Desirably, the power level calculating unit (17) starts the power level calculation from an instant corresponding to the forefront of slot. Desirably, the AGC loop further includes a control unit (18), which calculates control time based on the result of calculation in the power level calculating unit and feeds out a control voltage by calculating and controlling the control timing based on control amount. The power level calculating unit may start the power level calculation from an intermediate part of slot instead of the forefront thereof.

Abstract: A mobile telephone capable of calling using a first calling system such as a personal handyphone system of being hand-off disabling at a moving speed more than the predetermined moving speed of the mobile telephone and a second calling system such as a personal digital cellular system of being hand-off enabling irrespective of the predetermined moving speed. A speed detector detects the moving speed of the mobile telephone itself, and a record holder stores the moving speed for a past predetermined time, detected by the speed detector. A central processing unit controls the calling using the first and second calling systems on the basis of the moving speed for the past predetermined time, resulting in improving reliability of line connection during moving, further improving using efficiency of the mobile telephone, and carrying out a more precise detection of a moving speed of the mobile telephone.

More particularly, an interactive recording/reproducing system which is interactively responsive to operations made by a user, which defines information such as text data (e.g., ASCII text) in association with an image and reproduces the text data simultaneously with reproduction of the image. An optical disk medium comprises a Video-CD recording area for recording image data (e.g. dynamic images, static images, voice) which conform to a basic Video-CD standard, a PC data recording area for recording text data associated with the image data, and a reproduction application recording area for recording a program to effect reproduction using a PC (personal computer). A Video-CD reproducing system and a PC can be alternatively used to perform reproduction using a content of the optical disk medium.
