    摘要： A multi-purpose tracheal tube for use with high frequency ventilation. The tube is an endotracheal tube including up to three lumens, in addition to the primary lumen, which serve various functions to provide versatility in the treatment of patients. In cuffed tubes one of the lumens is used for inflating the cuff once the tube has been placed in the desired position in the trachea of the patient. Another lumen, referred to as the "insufflation lumen", is used to deliver oxygen or other gases by constant insufflation, intermittent jet ventilation or high frequency ventilation. The third lumen, when incorporated, is employed for monitoring and irrigation. The distal opening of the irrigation or monitoring lumen is located just inside the distal tip of the tube while the insufflation lumen opening is located rearwardly toward the proximal end of the tube relative to the irrigation or monitoring lumen opening.

    摘要： A laryngeal airway device includes an air tube with proximal and distal ends, and a sealing member attached to the distal end of the air tube. The sealing member includes an anterior surface adapted to seat in the throat, against the hyoid bone, and to stretch the laryngeal inlet. A hole extends through the anterior surface and the sealing member and communicates through an air passage with the distal end of the air tube. When the sealing member is seated in the throat, the hole is contained within the rim of the stretched laryngeal inlet, with which the anterior surface forms a seal that surrounds the hole. Airway patency is thereby ensured.

    摘要： A unilimb breathing circuit has a proximal end coupling member, a distal end coupling member, an expiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members, and an inspiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members. The expiratory tube is a corrugated expiratory tube that is expandable between a fully compressed rest position, and a fully expanded rest position, and has a plurality of intermediate rest positions. At the plurality of intermediate rest positions, the expiratory tube is capable of maintaining its rest length without the exertion of an external force. The inspiratory tube is a corrugated inspiratory tube having a length that is variable between a fully compressed rest position and a fully expanded rest position, and includes a plurality of intermediate rest positions between the fully expanded rest position and the fully compressed rest position. The inspiratory tube is also capable of maintaining these intermediate rest positions without the exertion of an external force.
