Abstract:
Some implementations of the invention are directed to the use of legacy gaming software (or other non-native gaming software) in gaming machines that have a different architecture from that of the gaming machine for which the gaming software was written. Other implementations of the invention allow games of chance to be emulated, at least in part, on a device other than a gaming machine. The device may be, for example, a host device such as a workstation, a personal computer, a personal digital assistant, etc. The device may be a wired or a wireless device and may be used in a gaming establishment or at a remote location. Some aspects of the invention provide novel methods for dispute resolution and troubleshooting via such devices.
Abstract:
A processing platform for operation of a gaming machine. The processing platform includes a gaming processing subsystem for controlling functional aspects of gaming machine operation and a general computing subsystem for controlling non-functional aspects of gaming machine operation. The gaming processing subsystem and the general computing subsystem are physically separate from one another and are coupled to a bus included within the processing platform.
Abstract:
Some implementations of the invention provide methods and devices for managing gaming establishments and for provisioning and configuring gaming machines. Some such implementations allow a user to configure one or more gaming machines via an easy-to-use GUI displayed on a wired or a wireless device, such as a laptop, a PDA, a work station or other host device. Gaming machine parameters that can be changed according to some implementations of the invention include game denominations, games to enable or disable, game payback percentage, deal speed, volume level and enabling or disabling a tournament. Some preferred implementations of the invention provide an event scheduler that allows a user either to cause events to occur immediately or schedule certain events to occur at a future time. Some implementations of the invention allow a user to generate activity reports highlighting configuration changes, user logins, game set additions, and/or game downloading. Novel methods and devices for authentication are also provided herein. Some implementations of the invention allow a user to manage easily game downloads to a local server and/or to each gaming machine.
Abstract:
A thermal imaging device (10) provides for its use with a variety of accessory telescopic lenses (12). Each of the accessory telescopic lenses (12) and the thermal imaging device (10) include cooperating physical features allowing the lenses (12) to be mated with the device (10) in a single relative position. Each lens (12) also carries a uniquely positioned magnet (176), and the thermal imaging device (10) includes a plurality of magnetically-responsive sensors (178) responding to the magnets (176) of the various lenses (12) to identify which (if any) of the accessory lens (12) is installed on the device (10). Some of the accessory lenses (12) also include a variable-power feature. These variable-power lenses (12) have an additional magnet (182) moving between an effective position and an ineffective position in response to a user-selected power setting for the lens (12). The thermal imaging device (10) includes an additional magnetically-responsive sensor (178) affected by the additional magnet (182) in its effective position, but not effected in the ineffective position of this additional magnet (182). Thus, the thermal imaging device (10) also identifies the power setting of an installed variable-power lens (12). The thermal imaging device (10) is provided with internal adjustments and operational options which are automatically implemented dependent upon which of the accessory lenses (12) a user installs on the device (10).

Abstract:
In accordance with at least one exemplary embodiment, methods, computer program products and systems for monitoring viewable times of webpage elements on single webpages are disclosed. An exemplary method for rotating webpage elements on a single webpage based on viewable time can include loading a single webpage having at least one first webpage element and other webpage content. A first viewable time can be determined for the first webpage element. The first viewable time can be compared to a first viewable time limit until the first viewable time reaches the first viewable time limit. At least one second webpage element can be loaded in place of the first webpage element on the single webpage. In at least one exemplary embodiment, the first and second webpage elements are web advertisements.
