Abstract:
A cordless electric iron assembly has an iron removably mounted on a power supply stand adapted to be connected to a power supply. Separable mating electric terminals interposed between the iron and stand establish an electrical connection between the electric heater in the iron and the stand so long as the iron is placed on the stand. A detector on the stand detects the presence or absence of the iron on the stand and is used to activate an adjustable counter in response to removal of the iron from the stand. The counter activates an audible alarm after the elapse of a predetermined time period during which the iron is removed from the stand and in use to signal that the iron should be returned to the stand for reheating. A carrying case is detachable from the stand and accommodates the iron positioned on the stand with the mating terminals connected for storage of the iron during non-use.
Abstract:
A steam iron having a soleplate to be heated by a heater, an evaporation chamber disposed upon the soleplate, a tank located above the evaporation chamber, and a pump which delivers water from the tank to the evaporation chamber, wherein the pump is driven at specified intervals so as to generate extra steam, to attain an improvement of manipulation of the steam iron in ejecting extra steam and preventing blow-off of hot water.
Abstract:
A portable travel electric steam iron which also functions as a steamer has an aperture provided in a rear portion of the bottom of a water tank which supplies water into steam generating chambers from the water tank. Water dripping through the aperture is received by a water receiving surface provided on the center or on the front side of the center of a base. A handle which includes two straight positions separated by a bend is securable to an iron main body both in the operative position and storage position. An actuator for opening and closing an aperture is disposed in a space above the water tank, in the vicinity of a fixing portion at which the handle is fixed to the iron main body, thus providing a compact construction which is easy to handle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner in which an alarm sound is generated by introducing air from the exterior in bypassing relation to a filter 8 when a suction load imposed on a fan motor 3 exceeds a predetermined value. The alarm sound can be emitted or stopped without adversely affecting the introduction of bypassing air toward the fan motor 3. With such an arrangement, the vacuum cleaner can be used conveniently, and the fan motor 3 is prevented from being burned out.
Abstract:
An upright vacuum cleaner includes a rotary brush 12 disposed at a suction port in a floor nozzle 4 and capable of being rotated or stopped by shifting a motor-driven belt toward a drive pulley 17 or an idle pulley 18. The upright vacuum cleaner can conveniently be used for cleaning flat noncarpeted floors as well as carpeted floors.
Abstract:
An ironing apparatus which includes an ironing head, an ironing head rest including an electrical connection for supplying an electrical current to the ironing head placed on the ironing heat rest, a main tank for containing water and supplying the water to the ironing head, a water supply unit for supplying the water into the main tank, a controller for controlling the water supply unit and a load detector for detecting the placement of the ironing head on the ironing head rest, wherein the water supply unit is driven in response to an input from the load detector in response to the placement of the ironing head on the ironing head rest, thereby supplying water to the ironing head. When the ironing head is no longer in use, it retracts into the ironing head rest and is protected by a movable housing which is opened and closed by an electric drive. When the iron is needed for use, the drive opens the cover and again exposes the ironing head which is raised in a tilted position with the front of the ironing head higher than the back of the ironing head.
Abstract:
A cordless iron which includes an iron body and a rest upon which the iron body is mounted when the ironing is not being done, the iron body including a soleplate and a steam chamber both heated through electrical connection effected by the mounting of the iron body on the rest, the steam ejection being stopped when the iron body is mounted on the rest.
