摘要: A method of constructing a means suitable for directing or holding water is described. A depression suitable to direct, transport, or hold water, such as a water catchment or irrigation ditch is covered with cloth, any seams are fastened together, then the cloth is coated with a liquid silicone elastomeric composition curable at atmospheric conditions. The coated cloth edges are stabilized. The method yields a depression having a surface impervious to liquid water that has a long expected life due to its resistance to damaging effects such as weathering and exposure to wandering animals.

摘要: A silicone crumb in a fine particulate form has an extrusion rate of at least 50 grams per minute through an orifice of 0.5 inch diameter under a pressure of 345 kilopascals and compression points of less than 1035 kilopascals. This crumb is made from a vinyl-containing polyorganosiloxane, a silicon-bonded hydrogen containing polysiloxane, and a platinum catalyst. The crumb is useful in hydraulic applications.

摘要: A method of constructing a means suitable for directing, transporting or holding water is disclosed. Cloth is layed upon a surface convenient to a depression suitable to direct, transport, or hold water. The cloth is coated with a liquid silicone elastomeric composition curable at atmospheric conditions. The composition cures to an elastomer having a modulus which provides sufficient flexibility to the coated cloth so that the coated cloth will assume the contour of the depression, the coated cloth being impervious to liquid water. After curing, the coated cloth is moved to the depression and placed into the depression to cover the surface of the depression. The coated cloth is bonded at seams and the perimeter of the coated cloth is stabilized. The method yields a structure that is economical to manufacture, yet has a long, useful life in such applications as catchments, irrigation ditches, and holding ponds.

C. a mold containing a master tool, a pre-preg and a trapped polymer comprising a depolymerization-resistant silicone crumb rubber which is resistant to depolymerization of the polymer backbone at a temperature of at least 535.degree. C. to form and cure said pre-preg into the desired composite member.

摘要: A method of constructing a weatherproof coating over a roof comprises laying a piece or pieces of cloth over a roof, bonding the pieces of cloth together at any seams, adhering the cloth to the roof surface at least at the edges and projections, then coating the cloth with a liquid elastomeric silicone composition. The composition cures under ambient conditions to yield a water impermeable membrane that has been manufactured in place. A preferred embodiment uses unimpregnated, non-woven thermoplastic cloth having an upper surface thermally treated to remove projecting fibers, the thermally treated surface being subsequently wash coated with a layer of liquid elastomeric silicone emulsion except for any surface of the cloth edges which will be subsequently bonded at any seams, the wash coating being cured before application of the coated cloth to the roof.
