Abstract:
The present invention provides SERF2, a nucleic acid encoding said SERF2 or a cell expressing SERF2 for use as a medicament, in particular for use for use in treating or preventing an atrophy disease or condition or for increasing cellular growth in a patient such as sarcopenia, cachexia, dystrophy, hypoplasia, hypotonia, or muscle loss, as well as in vitro methods suitable for cell culture proliferation and pharmaceutical compositions.
Abstract:
A method of serving content to multiple clients via a network is provided. Independent sessions with each of a plurality of clients are maintained, wherein the number of clients in the plurality of clients can vary over time, and wherein the start of each session and the end of each session can be independent of the start and end of other sessions. A stream of packet payloads is received, each packet payload of the stream of packet payloads including data generated from the content, wherein each packet payload in at least a subset of the stream of packet payloads includes a different set of data. Each packet payload in the stream of packet payloads is transmitted to each client of the plurality of clients in corresponding packets, wherein the packet payload transmitted to a client at any particular time is independent of the state of the corresponding session.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to network data communication. Some embodiments include initiating a network connection between an original source and an ultimate destination, transmitting a block of data from the original source to the ultimate destination on the network, requesting retransmission of lost blocks from the ultimate destination to the source and retransmitting the lost blocks from source to the ultimate destination. These embodiments further include measuring round-trip time of a retransmit request, the round-trip time measured from a time of transmission of a retransmit request from the ultimate destination to a time of reception at the ultimate destination after retransmission from the original source and setting the round-trip time as a minimum retransmission request time for the network connection, wherein the round-trip time includes latencies of the network connection and in data processes at the original source and at the ultimate destination.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for facilitating Internet Security Protocol (IPsec) communications through devices that employ address translation in a telecommunications network is disclosed. A device that employs address translation, such as a router using Network Address Translation (NAT), receives IPsec based messages from originator nodes in a network and generates a result value for each message based on an initial identifier for each message. The messages are sent to a responder node that generates a response message to each originator node with a subsequent identifier that is based on the corresponding initial identifier. The device matches each response messages to the appropriate originator node within the network based on the result values and the subsequent identifiers. For example, the initial identifiers may be originator Security Parameter Indexes (SPI), and the subsequent identifiers may be responder SPI's that are each based on a hash value of the corresponding originator SPI.
Abstract:
In accordance with one embodiment, continued PKI operation during regenerating a new Certification Authority (CA) keypair and certificate or the like is provided by a root Certification Authority preparing a second CA certificate responsive to a request from a subordinate certification authority. The root Certification Authority and the subordinate certification authority store copies of the second CA certificate for use when the current CA certificate expires. Accordingly, existing trust relationships among a plurality of certificate authorities may be maintained during regeneration, node addition or the like.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a motorised drive device for a closure or solar protection home-automation facility which includes an electromechanical actuator, an electronic control unit and a standalone electric power supply device. The electronic control unit is configured to detect electric power supply and supply interruption periods of the electromechanical actuator from at least one photovoltaic cell, using only a unit for measuring a magnitude linked to the electric power supply of the electromechanical actuator by the at least one photovoltaic cell, and resetting at least one portion of the data stored by the electronic control unit, following the simulation of a sequence of electric power supply and supply interruption periods of the electromechanical actuator, wherein the electric power supply and supply interruption periods are detected via measurement elements.
Abstract:
Described is an I/O driven, feedback based rate control mechanism that allows a transfer session to self-adjust its transfer rate in response to the speed of the storage device at the destination. The described system may operate at the application layer, which makes cross-platform deployment an easier task

Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for a generic application layer gateway. By systematically examining each field in a message, tokens can be found that are likely to represent an IP address. Translation of those tokens can then be attempted. Certain fields that do not require translation are excluded from the process.
