摘要： Provided are a system and article of manufacture for device selection. A command is generated in a host, wherein the command is for a library manager not directly connected to the host. A device is selected from a subsystem in a storage library based on a preference order, wherein the storage library is coupled to the host and the library manager. The command is sent from the host to the selected device for communicating with the library manager.
