More particularly, the embodiments pertain to electrophotographic imaging members which have an added-on protective overcoat layer formulated to comprise of a novel A-B diblock copolymer comprising two segmental blocks of a bisphenol polycarbonate and an organic acid terminal which provides chemical vapor contaminant resistive property. The overcoat layer may further be formulated to include small quantity of charge transport compound. The present embodiments provide superior copy printout quality.

More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an imaging member comprising an anticurl back coating layer formulated to comprise conductive carbon nanotubes dispersion in a polymer blend comprising three film-forming thermoplastic polymers to: (a) render electrical conductivity effect for tribo-electrical charge elimination (b) impart static dissipation capability, and (c) provide surface energy lowering effect for contact friction reduction to ease imaging member belt drive as well as cutting tribo-electrical charge build-up under normal imaging member belt operational conditions in the field.

    摘要: Embodiments provide novel imaging members used in electrostatography. More particularly, there is provided flexible electrophotographic imaging members which exhibit an extended functional life. These imaging members include an improved protective overcoat layer comprising: (1) a polymer blend of a low surface energy copolymer and a chemically resistive copolymer, (2) a chemically resistive copolymer and a slip agent, and (3) a chemically resistive copolymer and the dispersion of a low surface energy Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS) nanoparticles to effect surface contact friction reduction for enhancing wear resistance and for suppressing copy printout defect caused by chemical attack.

    摘要: Embodiments provide novel imaging members used in electrostatography. More particularly, there is provided flexible electrophotographic imaging members which have improved imaging layer(s) formulated to comprise of a plasticizer in a material matrix of a solid solution comprising a charge transporting compound and a film forming polymer binder which is a novel A-B diblock copolymer or a binary polymer blend of a novel A-B diblock copolymer and a bisphenol polycarbonate. The flexible imaging members thus prepared have improved photoelectrical cyclic function stability, chemical resistive property, and are curl-free, and thus eliminate the need for an additional anticurl back coating layer.

In specific embodiments, the novel low surface energy polymer binder in the charge transport layer is a bisphenol A polycarbonate containing short polysiloxane segments present in the polycarbonate backbone—thus eliminating the light scattering effect to render optical clarity—and the charge transport compound is a diamine hole transporting species. The imaging member does include an anticurl back coating to maintain flatness.
