The bracket assembly includes a pair of laterally extending studs mounted to the first seating section, and a pair of brackets mounted to the second seating section including a vertical member for engaging the pair of laterally extending studs. The pair of brackets include a first bracket having a receiving portion and a retaining mechanism for releasably securing one of the laterally extending studs, and a second bracket having a receiving portion for engaging the other one of the laterally extending studs.

摘要： A mechanism is provided for detachably interconnecting a seat base and a seat back of a chair such that the application of pressure to the seat back causes deflection therebetween and which returns to its normal orientation upon releasing the applied pressure. The mechanism includes a plate member secured to the chair frame adjacent the seat base. A upstanding link member is pivotably secured to the plate member and the two are interconnected with a spring member for providing resistance to the pivoting motion. The upstanding link member is further formed with a lost-motion slot through which extends a pin which is secured into the plate member for thereby limiting the amount of deflection. The upper portion of the upstanding link member is formed to receive a detachable seat back assembly. The detachable seat back mechanism of the present invention is also uniquely adapted to provide at least two means for adjusting the amount of pressure required on the seat back to cause deflection.

摘要： The chair disclosed includes a power-assisted linear actuation drive mechanism having a lead screw nut which is linearly movable upon rotation of a power screw for selectively actuating the lift and tilt linkage mechanism for causing forward lifting and tilting movement of the chair when the motor is operated in a first direction. Rotation of the screw shaft in a second opposite direction acts to lower the chair to the normal seating position. Continued rotation in the second direction causes a first cam block pivotably mounted to the lead screw nut to engage a first follower assembly for causing extension of the leg rest assembly. Further rotation in the second direction causes a second cam block pivotably mounted to the lead screw nut to engage a second follower assembly for causing reclining movement of the chair. This sequential operation of the leg rest assembly and the reclining linkage are independent and may be easily disabled to selectively eliminate either of the features.

摘要： An electrically operated wall proximity furniture member includes a frame and an actuation mechanism rotatably connected to the frame. The actuation mechanism includes first and second independently rotatable seat back support members oriented to face a wall outer surface. An electrically powered drive assembly operates to rotate the seat back member between fully upright and fully reclined positions inclusive. A point of the seat back support members when positioned in the fully upright position defines a rear-most extent of the actuation mechanism. The rear-most extent defines a vertical plane having no portion of the actuation mechanism extending beyond the rear-most extent toward the wall outer surface during any operation of the actuation mechanism.

摘要： A rocking furniture member having an electrically powered actuation mechanism includes a frame and an actuation mechanism connected to the frame. The actuation mechanism includes an extendable and retractable leg rest assembly. A drive assembly connected to the actuation mechanism having an electric motor operates to move the leg rest assembly between a retracted position and any of a plurality of extended positions inclusive including a fully extended position by a command provided by an occupant of the furniture member. A rotation member connecting the actuation mechanism to the frame permits an occupant induced rocking motion of the actuation mechanism with respect to the frame at least when the leg rest assembly is in the retracted position.

摘要： A release system for a furniture member leg rest assembly extended from an actuation mechanism includes an actuation mechanism, the actuation mechanism having a leg rest assembly movable between a fully retracted and a plurality of extended positions inclusive, including a fully extended position. A pantograph link of the leg rest assembly is rotatably connected to the actuation mechanism. An extension link is rotatably connected to the actuation mechanism and moves in extension and retraction directions. A member is in contact with the extension link and in releasable contact with the pantograph link. The member is in contact with the pantograph link when the member is operating to push the pantograph link outward toward the fully extended position. The member is spatially separable from the pantograph link when an object is contacted by the leg rest assembly during return from any of the extended positions toward the fully retracted position.

摘要： A furniture member actuation mechanism includes first and second side plates with polymeric inserts each having an elongated slot each receiving a first or second pin. First and second seat back support elements are provided, the first element rotatably coupled to the first side plate and rotatably linked to the first pin and the second element rotatably coupled to the second side plate and rotatably linked to the second pin. First and second leg rest support arms are each connected by a pantograph linkage set to a drive rod disposed through the side plates. A rearward force applied by an occupant to the support elements rotates them rearward with the first and second pins sliding within the elongated slots. An occupant's weight when the rearward force is removed returns the support elements to a pre-rotation position. A cam adjusts a weight a leg rest can hold.

摘要： A sofa assembly including a low-profile center console section having a pair of rocking reclining chair sections releasably secured on either side thereof. As presently preferred, center console section provides an inboard armrest which may be positionable between an upright, raised position and a horizontal, use position, or alternatively, fixed in a horizontal, use position. The present invention further includes a mounting apparatus for securing independent sections of a modular sofa assembly together. An attachment plate and a keyhole fastener bracket are secured to the base assembly of each chair section. Complementary fastener bolts are secured to the center console section. When the chair section and center console section are aligned in side-by-side proximity, the fastener bolt extends through the keyhole and engages the fastener bracket. In this manner, a wide variety of individual furniture sections can be secured together to form a modular sofa assembly which is easily and readily assembled and disassembled.
