Abstract:
Capsules for use in a beverage production machine. One capsule includes a base body having a flange-like rim and containing beverage-forming ingredients therein, the ingredients being sealed in the base body by a foil member attached to the flange-like rim, and at least one flow control porous member arranged between at least a portion of ingredients in the capsule and the foil member. Another capsule includes a first wall member for supporting beverage-forming ingredients, a second perforable wall member attached to the first wall member, and at least one porous layer located between the beverage-forming ingredients in the capsule and the second wall member, with the porous layer forming a multilayer laminate with the perforable non-porous foil member. These flow control porous members provide faster and more consistent flow of the liquid extract through the capsule and significantly reduces the resurgence of non-soluble solids.
Abstract:
A method for preparing a short coffee extract from a capsule containing coffee powder. The method includes providing a capsule containing contains between 5.0 and 8.5 gram of ground coffee powder, injecting liquid into the capsule to interact with the coffee powder, and centrifuging the capsule in a beverage producing device to force, by the effect of centrifugal forces, the liquid coffee extract out of the capsule so that it can be collected and dispensed. The extraction of the liquid coffee extract is preferably obtained by rotating the capsule within a speed range of 2500 to 7500 rpm.
Abstract:
A sealed capsule contains a beverage ingredient in powder form, in particular, ground coffee. The capsule comprises a base body (4) and a foil member (5) tightly attached to the base body (4), the foil member (5) being made from a material allowing the production of a multitude of perforations in the foil member (5) when the foil member (5) is thrust, via the pressure caused by injecting a liquid or a liquid/gas mix into the capsule, against a relief plate of a beverage production machine, wherein the capsule is provided with a flow control porous member (80), the flow control porous member (80) being positioned between at least a portion of ingredients (3) and the foil member (5). The flow control porous member provides a faster and more consistent flow of the liquid extract through the capsule and significantly reduces the resurgence of non-soluble solids.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a respirator provided with a supply circuit and a utilization circuit, with a breathable gas accumulator, a distributor and a cyclic action control device. The respirator comprises an auxiliary make-up circuit for providing a make-up or complement of breathable gas, a discharge circuit for the breathable gas and a ventilation corrector device sensing the pressure in the utilization circuit and acting on said make-up circuit and discharge circuit to provide a complement or withdrawal of breathable gas.The invention is applicable for treatment of respiratory inadequacies performed in hospital or domestic environments.
Abstract:
A mixer for delivering a mixture of two gases G.sub.1 and G.sub.2 in proportions respectively and by volume of X/100 and (100-X)/100; X/100 not being allowed to be smaller than a particular value. Each gas circuit comprises a pipe provided with a cock for adjustment of the rate of flow and with a calibrated orifice selected in such manner that for an identical pressure P, the rates of flow of the gases through these orifices are in the ratio X/(100-X), with devices for limiting the pressure of the gas G.sub.2 to that of the gas G.sub.1, as well as for limiting the pressure in both circuits. The invention is applicable to an oxygen-nitrous oxide mixer for anaesthetic purposes, in which the proportion of oxygen in the mixture supplied cannot drop below 25% and the flow rate of nitrous oxide cannot exceed a predetermined maximum.
Abstract:
A respirator having insufflation and exhalation lines which form a breathing circuit for a patient or other user, insufflation and exhalation valves for admitting and discharging breathable gas to the circuit in accordance with an insufflation phase and an exhalation phase, and a bellows or other storage container which receives breathable gas from a suitable gas generator. The storage container supplies breathable gas to the insufflation line and is connected thereto by a plurality of branch conduits which are arranged such that, during the final portion of the insufflation phase, the pressure in the storage container is lower than the pressure in the breathing circuit.
