Abstract:
The present disclosure includes a generalized kinematics library which may be used to control the motion of a machine tool system and to process data for other applications, such as simulation graphics. Methods are disclosed to interpolate the movement of various axes of a machine tool system through a machine singularity point.
Abstract:
A method of producing a CMC article having a net shape, and by which the article can be formed to have an exterior surface with desirable characteristics, such as being free of an imprint pattern of a fiber reinforcement material within the article. The method entails providing a body comprising the fiber reinforcement material, and depositing a coating on a surface of the body. The coating contains a carbonaceous binder and a slurry containing a ceramic particulate material. Following its deposition, the carbonaceous binder within the coating is cured to render the coating machinable, and the coating is then machined to approximately produce the net shape of the article.
Abstract:
An orientation system and method for corrective eye surgery includes a camera for performing a first image mapping of a patient's eye using a predetermined eye feature and software for processing the first image map to determine an edge location of the feature. A second image mapping of the eye is performed with the patient in a different position. The second image map is processed to locate the predetermined eye feature. Correlation of the mappings is used to calculate an orientational change of the eye between the two positions. This procedure may also be performed at different times during surgery to permit “real-time” data on orientational changes undergone by the eye to be collected. In both cases the data are used to calculate an adjustment to be applied to a corrective prescription for application by the surgical procedure.
Abstract:
The present invention embodies an insert for attachment to a hammer of a size reducing machine for use in size reducing waste material, comprising a body with a centrally located mounting hole to allow for attachment of the insert to the hammer. The body also includes a bullet shaped tip distally located in relation to the body, wherein the tip can size reduce waste material on impact.
Abstract:
A rotor assembly for use with size reducing machines having a drive motor comprising a central shaft with a drive end for securement to the drive motor and an opposing outboard end. The rotor assembly also comprises a webbing engaged with the central shaft for supporting the rotor assembly, a rotor casing substantially seals the webbing, and a plurality of sockets secure to a plurality of casing throughbores. The webbing comprises a drive end plate secured to the central shaft with a bushing, an outboard end plate secured to the central shaft with a bushing, and a plurality of web support sockets aligned in two transversely aligned rows. The web socket plates each comprise two socket receiver channels for alignment with the sockets. Finally, a plurality of hammers releasably secure to the plurality of sockets.
Abstract:
A landscaping material cleaning technique involves the application of a vacuum cleaner attachment. This attachment defines a conduit extending from a suction inlet to a suction outlet. The suction outlet is sized and shaped to connect to a vacuum cleaner in fluid communication therewith. The attachment further includes a number of teeth extending away from the inlet and optionally a grating that extends across the conduit to define a number of apertures circumscribed by a conduit margin. These apertures are sized and shaped to selectively separate fine particulate debris from a coarser landscaping medium when suction is applied through the conduit. The teeth project out of one end of the conduit to serve as a rake for grooming the coarser medium as the particulate debris is separated from it by suction applied through the conduit with a vacuum cleaner.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating the management of wireless computer network environments and the detection of rogue and other devices that may affect the performance and/or security of the wireless computer network. The present invention enables accurate and cost effective WLAN airspace mapping. In one embodiment, the present invention allows any conforming access point the ability to routinely scan its airspace, collect data on all operating frequencies and report this information back to a management platform. In one embodiment, the management and reporting functionality described herein uses a standards-based vehicle, such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). In one embodiment, the present invention allows for detection of all wireless traffic within or affecting an enterprise's computer network environment, picking up all active access points (Ad Hoc or Infrastructure) and all wireless clients data regardless of SSID, channel, or security settings. The management platform, according to an embodiment of the present invention, analyzes information received from the access points under management to detect and report the state of the computer network environment. In one embodiment, the present invention facilitates isolation of rogue wireless devices affecting the computer network environment and effective decision-making as to management of the detected device. The present invention also allows network administrators to optimize the configuration of the wireless network environment for performance and security.
Abstract:
An electronic kitchen faucet capable of dispensing a measured, operator selectable quantity of hot or cold liquid into a container with a flow rate suitable to prevent splashing or loss of the ensuing mixture while maintaining a rapid flow rate to quickly fill larger containers. The dispensing faucet can be used for measuring liquids required for preparing recipes, making instant beverages, or in the preparation of pre-packaged foods. The dispensing faucet apparatus may be retrofitted to an existing faucet. The invention may utilize the liquid flow sensor to automatically control a kitchen garbage disposal.
Abstract:
An appliance lift tool is provided which includes a cart having a frame includes a support platform having a horizontal orientation, a bottom frame, and a lift mechanism engaged between the support platform and the bottom frame to move the support platform toward and away from the bottom frame, while maintaining the support platform's horizontal orientation.
