    摘要: A discontinuous drive power tool assembly for generating rotational torque includes a spindle having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the spindle is configured to engage and rotate an object. The tool assembly also includes a pulse hammer selectively engagable with the second end portion of the spindle, and a motor that includes a motor shaft engagable with the pulse hammer. The motor is configured to rotate the pulse hammer. The tool assembly also includes a rotational position sensor disposed adjacent the motor. The rotational position sensor is configured to measure the rotational position of a second portion of the motor shaft which is opposite the first end portion of the motor shaft during operation of the tool assembly.

    摘要: An open end power wrench includes an operating scheme that identifies when the item within the drive socket is an item that should be rotated by the drive socket. The method for controlling the tube nut wrench includes the steps of operating the motor to generate an output torque. The method then measures an angle of rotation through which the drive socket rotates. The angle of rotation is then compared with an angle defined by the clearance opening. The output torque is limited to a minimal torque level when the angle of rotation of the drive socket is less than the angle defined by the clearance opening. The method then increases the output torque to an operating torque level when the angle of rotation of the drive socket exceeds the angle defined by the clearance opening.

    摘要: Generally there is provided a nutrunner appliance for automatically driving a nut having an electrical motor, gearing, and a strain gauge to monitor the applied torque. The control system employs analog comparator circuits acting on analog signals from the strain gauge to determine the torque being applied. During operation, the comparator detects a predetermined torque and shifts the motor to a lower velocity to lower the inertia of the system. When the strain gauge output corresponds to the desired final torque, a braking action is applied to the motor to quickly terminate the applied torque.

    摘要: Generally there is provided an improved design for a nutrunner appliance drive mechanism and strain gauge mounting. The design for the drive mechanism and strain gauge mounting of the nutrunner appliance facilitates placement of the strain gauge nearer the nut engagement extremity. The drive mechanism includes a shaft member mounted at an angle transverse to the motor shaft, and having a beveled gear at one extremity and a nut engaging member on the other extremity. A strain gauge is mounted between these extremities and provides signals to contacts rotating with the shaft. A brush contact protruding from a removable terminal block is used to pick up the electrical signals from the strain gauge contacts.
