Abstract:
Silver halide photographic elements for tanning development including tanning developers, which can diffuse into the gelatin layer containing them, can be improved if they are associated with non-diffusing hydroquinones. In the case where such tanning developer is hydroquinone or a derivative thereof, said elements include such diffusing hydroquinone associated with a hydroquinone derivative non-diffusing in the gelatin layer containing it. Such non-diffusing hydroquinones preferably are hydroquinones substituted with aliphatic chains containing a total of at least twelve carbon atoms and, more preferably, are dispersed in the layer dissolved in a high-boiling organic solvent.
Abstract:
A radiographic assembly comprising:a radiographic element which comprises a support and a front and back pair of silver halide emulsion layers coated on the opposite sides of the support, anda front and back pair of intensifying screens adjacent said front and back emulsion layers, respectively, wherein at least one of said silver halide emulsion layers shows a swelling index lower than 140% and a melting time of from 45 to 120 minutes, and the contrast difference between said pair of silver halide emulsion layers is at least 0.5,wherein the X-ray stimulated light emission difference between said pair of intensifying screens is at least 0.6 IogE, andwherein the average imagewise cross-over of said radiographic element is lower than 5% at optical density of from 0.5 to 1.75 and in the range of from 5 to 15% at optical density of from 1.75 to 3.25, said imagewise cross-over being measured according to the formula described in the specificaton.
Abstract:
A photographic material for tanning development which comprises a photographic support base, at least one tannable binder material, at least one silver halide emulsion and at least one pigment, said material including a 3-pyrazolidone compound and at least two different 1,4-dihydroxybenzene compounds, the first of which is chosen within the group of those having a standard tanning development time (STDT) of one fourth to twice the hydroquinone STDT (STDTHy) and the second of which is chosen within the group of those having a STDT of one fourth to fifteen times the STDTHy.Most preferably, the above photographic material includes hydroquinone in addition to the 3-pyrazolidone compound and the two 1,4-dihydroxybenzene compounds, wherein the first 1,4-dihydroxybenzene compound, other than hydroquinone, is chosen within the group of those having a STDT of one fourth to twice the STDTHy and the second 1,4-dihydroxybenzene compound is chosen within the group of those having a STDT of two to fifteen times the STDTHy.A method to obtain relief images by using the above said photographic material.
Abstract:
A photographic element for tanning development which comprises a support, a layer of silver halide emulsion in non-hardened gelatin including a tanning developer dispersed therein, and over said emulsion layer, a layer of non-hardened gelatin comprising at least one colored pigment dispersed therein, characterized by the silver in said silver halide emulsion layer being present in a quantity of less than 0.6 g/m.sup.2 with a silver/gelatin ratio of less than 0.4. A method for obtaining a colored relief image in such an element is shown.
