    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a network element for distributing SS7 traffic to a destination in an SS7 network over a plurality of links, wherein the distribution is handled on the basis of link selection parameters that are derived from message fields of the SS7 traffic, and wherein a link is uniquely assigned to each link selection parameter value. An inventive network arrangement comprises at least two SS7 network elements having a common first and individual second signaling point codes.
