摘要： A voltage regulating circuit in which the suppression of the ripple component of the output voltage is maintained at input voltage levels insufficient to support the regulation of the steady output voltage component. The ripple suppression is achieved at low input voltage levels without additional active devices. Through incorporation of a resistor in a circuit location not normally including a resistor, and by appropriate selection of component values, the ripple suppression at low input voltage levels is achieved without appreciable deterioration of the output voltage regulation under normal operating conditions.

摘要： Apparatus and method for providing an automatic frequency tuning system capable of supplying a local oscillator signal with a preselected frequency. The frequency of an output signal of the local oscillator is electronically varied across a frequency region which includes the preselected frequency. The output signal of the local oscillator is combined with the output signal of a reference signal generator. After the combination of the local oscillator signal with the reference oscillator signal produces a preestablished condition which is the result of the local oscillator signal attaining the preselected frequency, the frequency of the local oscillator signal is held constant. The local oscillator signal is thereafter compared to the reference oscillation signal and a change in the local oscillator signal frequency is corrected by means of an automatic frequency control feedback loop containing a discrimintor circuit.

摘要： Apparatus and method for combining digitized information, especially digitally encoded audio information, received from a plurality of input data channels for distribution in a digital communication system. Upon identification of a preselected digital sequence in one of the input channels, the apparatus couples the channel displaying the preselected condition to the communication system until identification is made of the preselected digital sequence in a different channel. At that time, the data channel, most recently displaying the preselected data sequence, is coupled to the communication system, replacing the channel previously coupled to the communication system. When the information in the input channels is comprised of digitalencoded vocal data, the preselected condition identifies the initiation of information in the channel. A plurality of channels bearing digitally encoded vocal information can be coupled to the communication system in this manner, the communication system receiving sampled data from each active channel. An audio reconstruction of the decoded information from the communication system resembles the simultaneous or conferenced reception of a plurality of channels of vocal information.

摘要： A portable battery operated telemetry transmitter is disclosed which senses temperature and provides a modulation signal the frequency of which is a linear function of the sensed temperature. A carrier is frequency modulated with this linear function to transmit the temperature information to a remote location. Means are also provided to time multiplex and transmit a signal representive of the transmitter battery conditions and a standard check signal indicative of satisfactory operation of the overall telemetry system.

摘要： Apparatus for automatically turning off any device, as for example a television receiver, upon the discontinuance of a certain signal component for a preselected period of time. The automatic shut-off feature is incorporated into a conventional television receiver without in any way affecting the normal operation of the television receiver until the station to which the set is tuned, leaves the air. When a station leaves the air, this will be sensed as a loss of a signal component, as for example, the synchronizing signal and automatically thereafter there will be energized a timer mechanism which is effective after a preselected period of time to shut off the television set; but, without in any way interfering with a subsequent turning on of the set by a viewer to a selected television broadcast when the station has resumed broadcasting. The invention is particularly useful where television sets are installed in bedrooms and the televiewer falls asleep, allowing the television set to stay on after the television station has ceased broadcasting.

摘要： An improved scheme for effecting the selective energization of a fascimile or other receiver is disclosed in the form of a bisstable trigger circuit which is responsive to predetermined signals indicative of the fact that transmission of information has begun or has ended to switch between its enable and disable states. The change of state of the trigger circuit is then effective to enable or partially disable the receiver. Provision is made whereby the turn-on time may be made substantially less than the turn-off time so that the receiver will not turn-off due to noise, momentary line drop outs or other temporary interruptions in transmission.

摘要： This invention relates to a system for, and method of, reproducing a color image from a composite black-and-white image. The composite black-and-white image is formed either on an exposure or is formed from a live image. In either case, modulations are provided in a first particular line pattern to obtain a representation of a first particular color. Modulations are also provided in a second particular line pattern different from the first particular line pattern to obtain a representation of a second particular color. The third color may be unmodulated. The three colors add optically to form the image luminance. To reproduce the color image, signals are provided by scanning the composite image. Means are provided for operating upon such signals in accordance with the modulations in the first particular line pattern to produce signals representating the first particular color. Means are also provided for operating upon the signals representing the composite image in accordance with the modulations in the second particular line pattern to produce signals representing the second particular color. The signals representing the first and second particular colors are then used in conjunction with the luminance to reproduce the color image.

摘要： In the process of soldering electrical connections in printed circuits, the printed circuit is passed through the crest of a fountain of solder which includes a water soluble hydrocarbon, polyethylene glycol, which wets the surfaces to be soldered. After soldering, a water wash is used to remove the polyethylene glycol and dross from the printed circuit work piece which may then be air dried with a dip in isopropyl alcohol if desired. The use of a water soluble additive provides the soldering advantages which are obtained with presently used non-water soluble materials, such as Shell Oil Company''s Peblum Oil (or equivalent) for example, and additionally provides the advantage of the use of an effective yet simple and inexpensive cleaning operation of the board after soldering by washing with water. This eliminates the necessity of using solvents which are relatively expensive and sometimes toxic and detrimental to the printed circuit component parts, their protective coatings, and identification markings.

摘要： A digital tuning indicator for a multiple band heterodyne type receiving device is disclosed which is capable of displaying the frequency to which the receiving device is tuned for AM and FM reception in kilohertz to the nearest kilohertz and in megahertz to the nearest one-tenth megahertz respectively, and of displaying the channel to which the device is tuned when receiving UHF television. The indicating system comprises a counter, the contents of which are periodically displayed. The counter contents are preset to a value which reflects the intermediate frequency of the particular band and a submultiple of the corresponding local oscillator frequency is gated into the counter for a prescribed time interval whereby the resultant sum in the counter at the end of the prescribed time interval reflects the actual received frequency or the corresponding channel number.

In ordinary application, a cardboard tray is supported at each corner with a resilient member with the projections of such member being in registration with openings in each corner of the tray to position the resilient members, hold the tray sides together, and to form a resilient cushion at each corner for supporting an article transported in the container. In the usual circumstance, there are two trays per container, one at the bottom of the article and one at the top.
