摘要: An arrangement of a network element, which routes communication traffic among different types of communication networks, includes a central processing unit configured to perform routing operations on the basis of a communication protocol, which forms a stack. Also, the arrangement of the network element includes devices configured to handle signal processing related issues and communicating with the central processing unit. The communication protocol stack is divided into a first stack situated in the central processing unit, which performs the routing operations of protocols in the first stack, and into a second stack, each device that handles signal processing related issues performing the operations of protocols in the second stack.

摘要: The invention is concerned with transmission of speech information over mixed networks, particularly over a segment using packet transmission in an otherwise circuit switched data transmission network. According to the invention, PCM transmission lines are connected with a packet based network such as an IP network in such a way, that data from one or more channels of a first PCM transmission line is collected in the payload part of a data packet. Further, the destination address of the data packet is constructed in such a way, that the packet network entity being connected to the second PCM transmission line can determine based on the destination address of the packet, to which channel or channels of the second PCM transmission line the data should be transmitted.

摘要: The present invention proposes a method of providing information of the echo path of a speech connection in a Packet Data Network, said method comprising the steps of requesting delay information by means for triggering echo removal, said delay information being obtained by signaling a non-speech measurement data unit to said Packet Data Network by an echo estimation means, and measuring the delay of the echo of said measurement data unit by said echo estimation means; replying the echo delay of said measurement data unit from said echo estimation means; generating delay information including at least said echo delay of said measurement data unit; and adjusting a shift register being related to an echo removing device by the use of said delay information such that the performance of said echo removing device is optimized in view of its echo removing capability.
