    摘要: A water-resistant porcelain enamel coating and method of making the same is provided. The porcelain enamel coating is prepared using a borosilicate glass frit, and mill additions of silica and a zirconia compound. The mixture is applied to a metal substrate and fired, resulting in a water-resistant coating that resists cracking and crazing. The coating is particularly useful in water heaters. In one embodiment, the coating comprises a fine zirconia compound having a median particle size of less than 10 microns.

The porcelain enamel coating contains an anti-microbial agent having an anti-microbial metal compound such as silver, zinc, or copper disposed on a particulate support. The resulting porcelain enamel coating can be used, for example, as a coating over steel for those appliances and sanitary ware fixtures that could benefit from an increased level of resistance to microbes, mold, bacteria, and fungus.

    摘要: An apparatus for guiding a welding torch along a weld groove has a visual sensing system for detecting the weld groove cross sectional configuration and relative position of the edges of weld groove. The positional and cross sectional information is assimilated under microprocessor control to actively guide the welding torch through the control of a series of servo motors and adaptively position the welding electrode at an optimal preselected location with the weld groove.
