Abstract:
A vibratory screening machine having opposite sides with a plurality of stationary aligned tensioning members mounted on one side and a plurality of nut actuated movable tensioning members mounted on the opposite side and a vibratory screening screen mounted on the stationary and movable tensioning members. The tensioning members have upstanding fingers which are received in apertures in the plates of the vibratory screen, and the edge portions of the vibratory screen include screening material which extends all of the way to the extreme edges of the supporting plate and the fingers are below the screening material. Also, the tensioning structure is mounted on the side walls of the vibratory screening machine below the vibratory screen.

Abstract:
A vibratory motor for a vibratory screening machine including a housing having a main shaft mounting outer shafts at its ends with a slip connection therebetween, bearings mounted on the outer shafts, first lubricant chambers on opposite sides of each of the bearings with a conduit therebetween, eccentric weights on the opposite sides of each bearing in each of the first lubricant chambers, second lubricant chambers outwardly of the first lubricant chambers, ducts between each outermost first lubricant chamber and an adjacent second lubricant chamber, second conduits between the second lubricant chambers, and conduits including the hollow portion of the main shaft and bores in the main shaft and outer shafts for conducting lubricant from the second lubricant chambers to the bearings.
Abstract:
A method of attenuating the sound emanating from a bank of a plurality of vibrating screens of a plurality of vibrating screening machines including the steps of providing a master pulse of known phase and frequency, comparing the phase and frequency of a plurality of vibrating screens with the known phase and frequency of said master pulse, and adjusting the phase and frequency of said bank of plurality of vibrating screens so that the waveforms produced thereby tend to cancel each other. An apparatus for implementing the method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
In a method of determining focus in an image capture system of the type having an image sensor, optics for forming an image of a scene on the image sensor, and an image processor for determining the best focus, an image is acquired such that the focus of the image changes continuously, line by line, across the image. A plurality of edges above a predetermined magnitude are detected in the image and the sharpness of the detected edge is measured. The sharpest edge in each line of the image is determined and plotted versus the location of the line in the image. A curve is fit to the plot of sharpness versus location and the best focus of the imaging system is determined from the peak of the curve fit.
