    Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for solving a supply chain planning problem modeled as a linear programming (LP) problem. Embodiments further include receiving a multi-period matrix formulation of a least a portion of an LP supply chain master planning problem representing a supply chain planning problem for a supply chain network and having a planning horizon divided into time buckets separated by time-bucket boundaries, mapping constraints of the LP supply chain master planning problem and variables of the LP supply chain master planning problem to the time buckets, calculating a quantity of cross-over variables for the constraints and the time buckets, selecting one or more decomposition boundaries from the time-bucket boundaries, and formulating at least two time-based decomposed subproblems by decomposing the LP supply chain master planning problem at the one or more decomposition boundaries.

The method includes accessing a second plan generated in a second planning session of a second planning cycle subsequent to the first planning cycle, identifying one or more second plan problems reflected in the second plan, and comparing the one or more first plan problems identified for the first planning cycle with the one or more second plan problems identified for the second planning cycle. The method includes determining whether the second plan problem corresponds to any first plan problem identified for the first planning cycle.

The system includes a database that stores data representing a planning problem of a supply chain network and a computer that accesses the planning problem of the supply chain network stored in the database and models the planning problem as a network of nodes and edges. The computer further generates a hierarchical linear programming solution of the planning problem and applies advanced heuristics to the generated hierarchical linear programming solution.     Abstract: A method for filtered peer-to-peer business communication in a distributed computer environment includes accessing offers associated with one or more offerors and requests associated with one or more requestors, each offer and each request including a set of filter components. Filter components of offers are compared with corresponding filter components of requests to determine whether one or more offers match one or more requests. A match is determined between an offer and a request if the filter components of the offer match the corresponding filter components of the request. In response, at least a matching portion of the offer and request is replicated and communicated to both the offeror associated with the offer and the requestor associated with the request to provide filtered peer-to-peer communication between the offeror and requestor.
