The invention relates to a process for the comminution of bulk materials comprising synthetic polymers which do not have an elastomeric behavior by mechanical, thermal or electromagnetic loading of the bulk materials, which comprises treating the bulk materials, before and/or during the loading, with oxidants which have a redox potential of greater than 1.5 V or subjecting them to corona, UV or plasma treatment without complete oxidation of the synthetic polymer taking place.
Abstract:
Rolling stock is transported in a transporting device from a front roll stand to a rear roll stand. Between the roll stands, the rolling stock carries out an oscillation transverse to the transporting direction. At least one characteristic property, amplitude or frequency, of the oscillation is determined quantitatively and, from this determination, a tension or compression, existing in the rolling stock between the roll stands is determined. One of the roll stands is readjusted in such a manner, that a desired tension is built up in the rolling stock between the roll stands.

Between an intermediate roll unit and a dimensioning finishing roll unit of a continuous light-section or wire rod rolling train, a multifunctional section is provided with three parallel lines and at least the first and second rolling lines having rolling blocks and substantially all of the lines including cooling sections and/or temperature equalization sections. Via distributing guides and 180° loop forming path segments, the workpieces are selectively directable from the first line to the dimensioning finishing rolling unit without traveling over the second and third lines and to the dimensioning finishing rolling unit after travelling over all or part of the second and third lines.
Abstract:
A plastic hollow preform is drawn through a mold passage formed in a closed mold by applying a generally constant suction to a downstream end of a conduit having an upstream end connected to an output end of the mold passage. A flow cross section of the conduit is varied between its upstream and downstream ends so as to vary a rate at which the preform is drawn through the passage by the suction. The flow cross section is varied by displacing a valve element in the conduit between positions in which it differently blocks flow through the conduit.

A method of rolling a bar-shaped stock to predetermined end height and end width measured transverse to the end height and including providing a rolling will train having a plurality of arranged one after another active rolling mill stands having adjustable roll rips and forming rolling mill stand pairs, providing a respective plurality of hydraulic cylinder units for adjusting the roll rips of respective rolling mil stands, rolling the bar-shaped stock through the rolling mill stands, and compensating at least a fraction, individually for each of the plurality of rolling mill stands, of rolling force-caused spring-offs of the respective rolling mill stands by controlling operations of respective hydraulic cylinder units.
