    Abstract: A hose (1) includes a main pressure cord layer (5) for holding a fluid, and an auxiliary pressure cord layer (7) formed so as to sheathe the main pressure cord layer (5) and to form a buffering space (9) for retaining the fluid leaking through the main pressure cord layer (5) between the main pressure cord layer (5) and the auxiliary pressure cord layer (7). The auxiliary cord layer (7) includes first and second cord plies in an asymmetrical structural relation capable of being twisted by the pressure of the fluid leaking through the main pressure cord layer (5). Thus, even if its main pressure cord layer and its rubber tube are damaged leakage of the fluid can be prevented.

    Abstract: Subject-distance information is acquired by a light-weight, small-size arrangement without a significant change in the structure of a conventional image processing apparatus. The apparatus acquires diffraction images obtained by sensing the image of a subject, using an image sensing unit, obtained via a diffraction grating and imaging optical system, detects a real image from luminance gradients of the diffraction images, calculates the distance between the detected real image and a virtual image corresponding to this real image in the diffraction images, and calculates the depth distance between the subject and the diffraction grating using the distance calculated by first calculating unit.

    Abstract: An image photographing apparatus has a photographing unit for obtaining a plurality of observation images by photographing a same object by a plurality of members having the different optical transfer characteristics, a characteristics calculation unit for calculating optical transfer characteristics according to a distance to the object, and a distance calculation unit for calculating the distance to the object from the plurality of observation images and the optical transfer characteristics. Another type of the apparatus has the photographing unit, a first characteristics calculation unit for calculating first optical transfer characteristics according to a distance to the object, a second characteristics calculation unit for calculating second optical transfer characteristics so as to minimize a blur amount, based on the plurality of observation images and the first optical transfer characteristics, and a blur reconstructing unit for obtaining an in-focus image by reconstructing a blur of an image by using the second optical transfer characteristics.
