    摘要: A force actuated clamping chuck has a chuck body with a central bore and at least two clamping jaws that are guided in radial jaw guides of the chuck body. The radial jaw guides have opposed sidewalls with a plurality of guide grooves which are engaged by a plurality of guide ribs provided at lateral surfaces of the clamping jaws. A clamping piston is axially guided in the central bore and has a throughbore for receiving a workpiece. The clamping piston has key grooves provided at the periphery thereof. The clamping jaws have a key member at an end thereof facing the clamping piston. The key members engage the key grooves. At least two of the guide ribs extending over the entire radial length of the clamping jaw have a trapezoidal cross-section. At least one of the guide ribs, extending over a portion of the radial length at an end of the clamping jaw remote from the clamping piston, has a trapezoidal cross-section.

    摘要: A power operated jaw chuck with clamping jaws which can each be operated by a chuck piston movable axially within a bore in a chuck body via a separate wedge-hook transmission comprising wedge surfaces inclined in the axial direction which are formed in the circumferential direction in pairs on the chuck piston and on a wedge hook. In order to obtain higher load-bearing capacity of the wedge hook transmission without increasing the required space, the wedge hook is formed with a T-shaped cross section having a continuous wedge surface for internal clamping on the radially inner base surface and having a web which simultaneously serves as a connecting member with the rear side of the clamping jaw. Ledge-shaped wedge pieces are formed on the chuck piston on both sides of the web. The wedge pieces extend in the circumferential direction of the chuck piston up to the web of the clamping jaw, are supported via their partially cylindrical outer surface in the bore of the chuck body which is provided for the chuck piston, and cooperate for external clamping via an inner wedge surface with respectively each one wedge surface of the wedge hook.

    摘要: A chuck for lathes having a chuck body in which at least two clamping jaws which can be jointly actuated by a drive member are guided in radially displaceable manner, the jaws consisting in each case of a drive jaw part which is continuously in operative connection with the drive member and of a clamping jaw part which is guided for radial movement independently of the drive jaw part within the chuck body and can be connected in form-locked manner with the drive jaw part by a coupling piece arranged in the drive jaw part. The form-locked engagement of the coupling piece with the clamping jaw part can be eliminated via positive drive surfaces by a spring-loaded actuating member which is movable substantially radially and independently of other actuating members. In order to be able to develop the drive jaw parts lighter and nevertheless stronger and in order to assure a dependable connection between clamping jaw part and drive jaw part, the actuating member is arranged in the chuck body and connected via the positive guide surfaces with an intermediate member which is also mounted in the chuck body and is connected with the coupling piece in form-locked manner in the direction of action of the latter but in radial direction permits a free movement of the coupling piece with respect to the intermediate member.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining a working range of a double-acting clamping cylinder for actuation of operating devices, such as supporting, centering or chucking devices, respectively on machine tools, particularly replaceable chucks on lathes, giving consideration to a post-tightening distance and controlling of the drive for effecting of the machining of the workpiece. In order to avoid a replacement of control cams or adjustment of limit switches of the prior art, the total path of the clamping cylinder is monitored by a length-measuring instrument which gives off electric pulses to a control device which determines the total stroke of the corresponding supporting, centering or clamping device and stores in the control device the end positions thereof lying within the total path of the clamping cylinder within and, with due consideration to the post-tightening stroke associated with the corresponding operating device, determines the working range of the clamping cylinder for the respective operating device outside of which working range the drive for effecting the machining of the workpiece is blocked by the control device.
