A home screen display unit displays a global navigation screen 12 that is located on an upper layer with respect to a screen transition and that is used for selecting a category of content to be processed. The home screen display unit displays a content zone screen 18 that is located on a lower layer with respect to a screen transition and that is used for selecting a piece of content to be processed from among a plurality of pieces of content corresponding to the category selected in the global navigation screen 12. If a specific piece of content is selected in the content zone screen 18, a game screen display unit displays a screen of the selected content. The home screen display unit displays, in the global navigation screen 12, an image of at least a portion of the content zone screen 18 with image quality lower than that in the case where the image is displayed in the content zone screen 18.

In one embodiment, a method of controlling a user interface can include: displaying a plurality of objects on a display screen, where each of the plurality of objects represents media content; accepting, by a computing device, a signal indicating user selection of an object from the plurality of objects; determining personal relevancy data associated with the selected object, where the personal relevancy data is determined by using a recommendation engine and at least in part by accessing content from a social network; playing the media content represented by the selected object, where the media content is displayed in a background on the display screen; and displaying the personal relevancy data in a foreground on the display screen.

A mobile communication apparatus comprising a graphical user interface with a plurality of selectable graphical user interface set-ups, wherein each of the selectable graphical user interface set-ups comprises a graphical set-up to be displayed as a default screen view of a display of the mobile communication apparatus is disclosed. The mobile communication apparatus further comprises a graphical user interface set-up selection mechanism enabling a user pre-set selection criterion for selecting one of the selectable graphical user interface set-ups based on at least one parameter defined by the user pre-set selection criterion. A method and computer program for automatic selection of graphical user interface set-ups, i.e. panels, are disclosed.

A method of operation of an electronic device system includes: detecting a drag performed on a touch screen, the drag having a first direction from a starting point and an ending point; detecting a stretchable cursor extendable based on the drag, the stretchable cursor having a cursor length, a cursor direction, a starting portion, and an ending portion at the ending point and larger than the starting portion at the starting point; displaying the stretchable cursor on the touch screen, the stretchable cursor stretched across a centerline on the touch screen; detecting whether a second direction of the drag is opposite the first direction; and moving a starting position of the stretchable cursor toward the centerline and away from the starting point when the second direction is opposite the first direction.
