Abstract:
A connector module is provided which has a plurality of signal contacts and has a ground shield with spring finger ground contacts as an integral part of the shield. This module provides a high fidelity electrical path for electrical signals between flexible signal cable and a mating connector half utilizing a simple array of pins as the signal conducting means. A plurality of modules may be used in one assembly.
Abstract:
This invention relates to connectors for a plurality of shielded cables with matching spacing configurations between signal conductors and connector sockets thus allowing easy termination of higher density cables for high speed electronic signals. Shielded ground conductors are attached to the housing shells of the connector.
Abstract:
The present invention is an improved cable for use in accurate signal transmission where limited space may be available for cable termination to a backplane or other interface. The cable of the present invention employs highly effective insulation materials of whatever diameter may be required along the majority of its length, but reduces the diameter of such materials at connective ends of the cable. As a result, very accurate, high speed signal transmission is provided while allowing high density cable attachment at input/output ports. Further, the present invention provides an improved method for rapidly and accurately constructing a cable with changed diameter along its length.
Abstract:
This invention relates to connectors for cables with prearranged spacing configurations between signal conductors and ground conductors thus allowing use of higher density cables for high speed electronic signals. Ground conductors are attached to the housing of the connector.
Abstract:
A flat multiconductor cable assembly having a plurality of individually shielded coaxial cable elements and one or more ground wires positioned in transversely spaced, side-by-side relation with a conductive screen or web interwoven in the transverse direction to physically contact and electrically interconnect the shields, the screen or web extending intermittently in the longitudinal direction in the spaces between adjacent cable elements and ground wires. A cable jacket is provided with opposing jacket sides being bonded together in the portion of the longitudinal spaces not occupied by the screen or web.
Abstract:
A buckling beam type electrical connector is provided which is operable to selectably protect the contact ends of the buckling beam elements from physical damage.
Abstract:
A miniaturized high-denisty coaxial interconnect system for use in termination of coaxial signal cables to electrical signal transmission systems is provided. The system contains one or more grouper modules having a staggered array of receptacle grooves in which the grouper modules are housed within a grouper frame. The system is easy to assemble and provide easy attachment and detachment from the transmission system. This invention also provides for an increased density of signal cables with improved spacing due to the unique design of component parts and their arrangement within the system.
Abstract:
A thin-profile electrical cable is rendered capable of enduring compressive and tensile loading encountered in under-carpet usage by encasing separately in the same flat pliable jacket the conductor to be protected and parallel to it one or more hard cable-like stress-carrying elements which are afforded free slippage within the jacket in the direction of their lengths. The jacket surface is scored by parallel grooves in the vicinity of the embedded conductor to cause compressive loads to be borne by the stress-carrying elements.
