摘要： Improved soil release agents for granular laundry detergents, typically used at levels as low as about 1% of a fully-formulated anionic surfactant-containing granular detergent, are reaction products of transesterifying and oligomerizing mixtures of monomers having the functions MO.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)--, M'O.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.3 {C(O)O--}.sub.2, --(O)CC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)-- and --OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O-- wherein M and M' are independently selected from lithium, potassium and sodium, more preferably sodium; said mixtures having mole ratio of MO.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)-- to --(O)CC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)-- of from about 0.2:1 to about 1.4:1, mole ratio of MO.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)-- to M'O.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.3 {C(O)O--}.sub.2 of from about 0.67:1 to about 20:1 and mole ratio of MO.sub.3 SC.sub.6 H.sub.4 C(O)-- to --OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O-- of from about 0.007:1 to about 0.51:1 and being substantially free from monomers of formula HOROH wherein R is propylene or higher alkyl.

摘要： Bleaching compositions, laundry and automatic dishwashing detergent compositions comprising multiple-substituted bleach activators which have at least one quaternary nitrogen atom, are provided. More specifically, the invention relates to compositions which provide enhanced cleaning/bleaching benefits though the selection of multiple-substituted quaternary bleach activators having specific leaving groups with a conjugate acid aqueous pK.sub.a above 13 and with advantageous ratios of rate of perhydrolysis to rate of hydrolysis and of rate of perhydrolysis to rate of diacylperoxide production. Included are preferred activator compounds and methods for washing fabrics, hard surfaces, and tableware using the activators.

摘要： The synthesis of polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactants exemplified by the compound C.sub.11 H.sub.23 C(O)N(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 [CHOH].sub.4 CH.sub.2 OH by reacting a fatty acid ester with an N-alkyl sugar amine can result in contamination of the product surfactant by residual sources of fatty acids. These residual fatty acids may be unacceptable in high sudsing detergent compositions, such as dishwashing liquids, especially with Ca or Mg cations. The process of this invention reacts such contaminants with alkyl amines or, especially, ethanolamine, to convert them into fatty alkyl- or alkanolamides, which are quite acceptable in fully-formulated detergent compositions for home or industrial use.

摘要： Detergent compositions which comprise from about 0.05 to about 95% by weight of a water-soluble cationic compound having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties. These compounds are selected from ethoxylated cationic monoamines, ethoxylated cationic diamines, ethoxylated cationic polyamines, ethoxylated cationic polymers, and mixtures thereof. In addition to the cationic compounds, the detergent compositions further comprise from about 1 to about 75% by weight of a nonionic, anionic, ampholytic, zwitterionic, or cationic detergent surfactant or mixture thereof. In addition to these detergent surfactants, the detergent composition can optionally comprise from 0 to about 80% by weight of a detergent builder.

摘要： Water-soluble cationic polymers having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties, which comprise a polymer backbone, at least two M groups and at least one L-X group, wherein M is a cationic group attached to or integral with the backbone and contains an N+ positively charged center; X is a nonionic group selected from the group consisting of H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl ester or ether groups, or mixtures thereof; and L is a hydrophilic chain connecting groups M and X or connecting X to the polymer backbone. L also contains the polyoxyalkylene moiety --[(R'O).sub.m (CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n ]--, wherein R' is C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkylene or hydroxyalkylene, m and n are numbers such that the moiety --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n -- is at least about 50% by weight of said polyoxyalkylene moiety, and n is at least about 3. These cationic polymers are useful in detergent compositions.

摘要： A zwitterionic polyamine comprising a linear or branched hydrophobic polyamine backbone having 2 to 10 tertiary amino nitrogen atoms and a spacer between two tertiary nitrogen atoms wherein the spacer is, for example selected from C8-C16-alkylene, C5-C15-cyloalkylene, wherein in formula (IV) R═C1- to C22-alkyl or C7-C22-aralkyl and n=3 to 6, at least one tertiary amine end group of the polyamine backbone contains two groups having formula (V) or (VI), wherein A means an ethylene oxide unit, a propylene oxide unit, a unit of butylene oxides and a tetrahydrofuran unit, n is a number of from 1 to 50, X is an anionic group such as —SO3M, with the proviso that in formula (VI) one X may also be hydrogen and M is hydrogen, alkai metal or ammonium, or contains one group of formula (V) or (VI) and one group selected from radicals consisting of formula (VII), C1- to C22-alkyl and C7-C22-aralkyl the meaning of A and n is the same as in formula (V) or (VI), said zwitterionic polyetherpolyamine having a molecular weight up to 9000 and optionally containing up to 100% of the nitrogen atoms quaternize, and a process for the production of zwitterionic polyamines by alkoxylating said polyamines, introducing anionic groups into the alkoxylated polyamines and optionally quaternizing them before or after the introduction of anionic groups. The zwitterionic polyamines are used in detergents.

Preferred polyesters have the formula: ##STR1## wherein each R.sup.1 is a 1,4-phenylene moiety; the R.sup.2 are essentially 1,2-propylene moieties; the R.sup.3 are essentially the polyoxyethylene moiety--(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.q --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --; each X is ethyl or preferably methyl; each n is from about 12 to about 45; q is from about 12 to about 90; the average value of u is from about 5 to about 20; the average value of v is from about 1 to about 10; the average value of u+v is from about 6 to about 30; the ratio u to v is from about 1 to about 6.
