Abstract: A receiver for an AK-47 style firearm includes an upper receiver and a lower receiver. The upper receiver includes a first side element, a second side element coupled to the first side element, a trunnion support formed between the first side element and the second side element proximate a forward end thereof, and a pivot block formed between the first side element and the second side element intermediate the forward end and a rearward end thereof. The lower receiver is hingedly coupled to the pivot block and movable between an open position and a closed position.
