A chain-like pressing device and a method of using same for press-joining a tubular or hose-shaped workpiece with a fitting and/or a ferrule is provided. The device at least two pressing members interacting over the circumference in the radial direction. The pressing members can move relative to each other in the circumferential direction at their interacting surfaces that transmit the pressing force. The interacting surfaces enclose an angle of less than 180° therebetween. The pressing device includes a plurality of pressing members forming a first linkage for enclosing the workpiece, at least one of the pressing members transmits pressing force only by pressure or tension application through a further first pressing member.

Disclosed is a pressing device (1) for compressingly joining pipe-shaped workpieces, particularly a pipe end (2) and a fitting (3) mounted thereon. At least one of the workpieces is plastically deformed by several press members which are movable along a central longitudinal axis of the workpieces for performing the compression. In order to produce a pressing device with several compression jaws that are comparatively easy to mount and allow the press members to be engaged as centrally as possible during compression, at least two press members are pivotally connected to each other by means of two articulated levers embodied as angle levers for applying compression force. The angle levers pressingly lean on a (first) press member (5), and both angle levers are train-connected to the same (second) press member (6).

The invention relates to a pair of pressing jaws for hydraulic or electric pressing tools for pressing fittings onto pipes or for the press connection of electric cables, the two pressing jaws being disposed for rotation about a common axis and each pressing jaw forming a bearing eye for this purpose. In order to configure a pair of pressing jaws of the type in question in a more functionally advantageous manner, it is proposed that each pressing jaw forms two bearing eyes with coaxial bearing openings, and the bearing eyes are disposed in an interengaging manner in the assembled state.

An electrohydraulic pressing device is suitable for one-handed operation. The device includes a housing having a working head attached thereto, an electric motor provided within the housing for actuating the working head, the electric motor being rearward of the working head, an actuating switch for actuating the working head, a rearward switch provided within the housing rearward of the motor; and a lever extending from the actuating switch to the rearward switch. The lever is within the housing and the housing around the lever forms a gripping region. When the actuating switch is actuated, the lever is moved to actuate the rearward switch.

A pair of cutting jaws are provided for a hydraulic or electric pressing tool. Each jaw is formed in the manner of a lever, with a driving portion and a working portion, which extend in opposite directions from a pivot axis. The working portion is reduced in its thickness by half or more in comparison with the driving portion.

The invention is concerned with a hand held hydraulic pressing apparatus (1) with a hydraulic cylinder (8), in which a hydraulically actuated piston can be displaced to carry out a pressing or cutting operation. The apparatus has a piston head (5) and a piston shank (16), the piston shank (16) being connected to a tool carrier (10). The tool carrier (10) is part of an inter-changeable apparatus head (9). In order to simplify to change the apparatus head, the invention proposes, that an interchangeable apparatus head (9) has in each case a piston shank (16) with a return spring (22).
