    摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for achieving receiver diversity. A wireless unit includes a plurality of antennas, an antenna selector to select one or more antennas from the plurality of antennas, a processor with input data from an inertial sensor for monitoring the orientation of the wireless unit. Based on the input data, the processor commands the antenna selector to select one or more antennas. In one aspect, the processor is a diversity processor. Based on the input data from the inertial sensor, the diversity processor computes the combination of the received signals. In another aspect, the wireless unit further includes a baseband processor to process the output of the diversity processor for a particular unit application.

    摘要: Apparatus and method for resolving repeater location ambiguities in a CDMA network using a CDMA Time Pseudolite. The CDMA Time Pseudolite includes a CDMA receiver to receive a CDMA signal with an embedded CDMA timing, a baseband processor to extract the CDMA timing and to adjust the CDMA timing to derive a signal with GNSS-like timing; and a GNSS transmitter to generate a GNSS-like signal and to transmit the GNSS-like signal to a mobile station. In one embodiment, the CDMA Time Pseudolite is situated at or nearby a CDMA signal repeater so that a mobile station may unambiguously identify a received CDMA signal as being transmitted by a particular CDMA signal repeater and then using that received CDMA signal for position determination of the mobile station.

The peak is within a localized portion of the correlation function which has a total number of peaks. In one embodiment, the total number of peaks is compared to a threshold number of peaks, and the peak is identified as being due to a jammer if the total number of peaks equals or exceeds a threshold number of peaks. In a second embodiment, the peak energy in relation to a noise estimate for the localized portion of the correlation function is compared to a jammer threshold. The peak is identified as being due to a jammer if the peak energy in relation to the noise estimate is less than or equal to the jammer threshold.

    摘要: A turbo code interleaver using linear congruential sequences may be employed as a two-dimensional interleaver in a turbo coder that also includes first and second constituent encoders. The interleaver and the first encoder are each configured to receive input bits. The first encoder produces output symbols therefrom. The interleaver receives the input bits sequentially by row. A linear congruential sequence recursion algorithm within the interleaver serves to pseudo-randomly rearrange, or shuffle, the bits within each row of the interleaver. The bits are then output from the interleaver sequentially by column. The second encoder is configured to receive the interleaved bits from the interleaver. The second encoder produces output symbols therefrom. The two streams of output symbols are multiplexed together, with appropriate puncturing. If desired, the linear congruential recursion sequence can be generated in reverse. Also if desired, a bit reversal technique can be used in the interleaver to rearrange, or shuffle, the rows of the interleaver.

The system and method reduces or eliminates redundant and superfluous data. In addition, the system and method ensure that the wireless device is not loaded with additional capacity, and that the wireless device is provided with precise location information. The embodiments of the system and method of the invention are compliant with the TIA/EIA IS-801 standard or other standards.
