Abstract:
A method of and an apparatus for applying a moisture block compound to a stranded electrical conductor using a double twist buncher apparatus are disclosed. An oil, such as drawing oil, is applied to the outer layer of wires to prevent "rolling" of the moisture block compound to the exterior of the stranded conductor. An improved applicator is also disclosed for applying the moisture block compound to the core of the stranded conductor in a coating having a precisely controlled thickness.
Abstract:
A vehicle side window, composed of HPR laminated glazing or advanced ejection mitigating laminated glazing, is provided with an inverted U-shaped channel, bonded to its upper edge, and extending into side channels of the door frame. The inverted U-shaped channel acts as a movable upper door channel, providing the door glazing with sufficient rigidity and pull-out resistance that it performs in an accident as if it were fully rolled up.

Abstract:
An electrical apparatus for removing ice and snow from the exterior top surface of the roof of a vehicle comprises at least one electrical heating element disposed against, and in direct contact with, the interior bottom surface of the roof. The heating element may be installed by the vehicle manufacturer or may be retrofit, and in the case of an automobile having a roof liner, the heating element is disposed below and in contact with the roof, but above the liner. Current to the heating element may be controlled by the vehicle's rear window defogger switch, through a relay.
Abstract:
A method is described for making sound motion pictures which are to be used for musical appreciation and other musical education purposes. The film production is based on the matching of pictures to an unaltered musical composition. Various types of scene sequences are filmed and synchronized with certain sequences of bars of the music, having a certain instrumental sound. The method of the invention is aided by graphical techniques whereby the bars of the music having a (1) certain instrumental sound are keyed to a chart which lists time of music, (2) instrumental sound, (3) typical bar, and (4) typical frame.
