摘要: A method for rewarding life insurance policy holders who satisfy requirements relating to insured individuals' wellness includes segmenting a group of insured individuals into a W group that qualifies for a wellness benefit and a S group that does not qualify for the wellness benefit. Qualification for the wellness benefit is based on compliance with one or more of said requirements relating to insured individuals' wellness. An aggregate wellness benefit pool available for distribution to members of the W group is then determined. The wellness benefits may be distributed in several forms or combinations thereof, such as cash dividends, reductions in premiums, free additional insurance coverage for a specified time period, credits towards policy cash value or increases in other benefits. The requirements relating to an insured individual's wellness may include one or more existing health (results-based) conditions or activity-based requirements, or a combination thereof.

摘要: An extractor for a broken-off tool including a tap, drill, set screw, bolt, reamer and dowel retained within a bore in a workpiece comprises a body, there being an axial bore in the body opening at its top and towards its bottom terminating in a tapered conical throat and a coaxial cylindrical neck of reduced diameter communicating with the throat and depending from the body. The neck is adapted to nest within and protectively engage the workpiece bore and engage the workpiece. The bore, throat and neck are adapted to loosely receive a flux-coated welding rod at one end bearing against the broken tool and adjacent its other end being connected to an electrical power source, whereby on application of sufficient electrical power, the welding rod within the throat forms a weld mass interconnecting the body and the broken tool, rotation of the body withdrawing the broken tool from the workpiece. The method of extracting such broken-off tool comprises selecting a metal body having a bore opening at its top and a hollow neck communicating with the bore at its bottom; applying the body to a workpiece with the neck extending into the bore of the workpiece and engaging the tool, there being a downwardly converging throat in the body connecting the bore of the body and neck; applying an elongated flux-covered welding rod through the bore, throat and neck into operative engagement with the tool; applying a welding electric current to one end of said welding rod while grounding the workpiece; collecting melted portions of said welding rod within the throat and neck for welding the tool to the body; and upon hardening of the weld, rotating the body and attached broken tool and withdrawing the broken tool.

摘要: A compound disc is used to eliminate a secondary slot normally formed between adjacent shafts of a material separation screen. The compound disc includes a primary disc joined to an associated secondary disc. The primary disc and the secondary disc each have the same shape but the secondary disc has a smaller outside perimeter and is wider. The primary disc and associated secondary disc are formed from a unitary piece of rubber. The compound discs are interleaved with oppositely aligned compound discs on adjacent shafts. In other words, the large disc is positioned on a shaft to align with a smaller disc on an adjacent shaft. The oppositely aligned and alternating arrangement between the large discs and small discs reduce problems that exist in screens that use in-line multi-sided discs.

摘要: A heated vehicle sliding window assembly has a fixed glass panel with an opening formed in it and a slidably movable glass panel capable of closing the opening. Disposed on the fixed glass panel are electrically conductive grid lines that form two grid resistors which are connected together as a series circuit, which is connected between two electrically conductive bus bars deposited on the fixed glass panel. Disposed on the slidably movable glass panel are electrically conductive grid lines that form a third grid resistor, which is connected between two other electrically conductive bus bars disposed on the movable glass panel. Both sets of electrically conductive bus bars may be connected together as a parallel circuit when the opening is either opened or closed by the movable glass panel.
