摘要： A separation unit is provided on a downstream side of a contact area between a belt-like rotating body and a pressure rotating body. The separation unit includes a pressure member, a guide portion and a pressure portion. The pressure member extends along a width direction of the belt-like rotating body, and presses the belt-like rotating body to deform the belt-like rotating body into a bent shape changing a course away from a surface of the pressure rotating body. The guide portion is on the pressure rotating body side of the pressure member to guide the belt-like rotating body so that an angle portion of the bent shape bites into the pressure rotating body. The pressure portion is on the surface in the pressure rotating body side, and the surface separates sequentially from the pressure rotating body in the extending direction from a center portion to an end portion.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: an imaging device that forms a toner image based on image data and transfers the toner image to a recording medium; a fixing device including a pair of rotatable members that defines a contact pressing portion that allows the recording medium with the toner image to pass through, and heats and presses the recording medium with the toner image; a surface potential measuring device that measures a surface potential of at least one of the pair of rotatable members; and a controller that performs control to give an alert notification that at least one of the pair of rotatable members which contacts with the toner image to be fixed should be replaced, when a result of the surface potential measured by the surface potential measuring device has exceeded a predetermined value.

摘要： An image forming apparatus, which forms an image on a recording material using a toner containing a crystalline substance, the image forming apparatus includes: a fusing unit that fuses a toner on the recording material; and a sheet transport device that transports downstream the recording material on which a toner image is fused by the fusing unit, wherein the sheet transport device includes: a rotating member which comes into contact with the toner image fused on the recording material and has in a sheet's width direction a length of at least a sheet's width; and a temperature control unit that controls a temperature of the rotating member within a temperature range in which the crystalline substance is not quenched to become amorphous and which is equal to or lower than a melting point of the crystalline substance based on a measured value of the temperature of the rotating member.

The image forming section forms an image pattern with high toner area coverage at a predetermined interval based on the measured amount of paper dust, and the fixing section fixes the image pattern with the high toner area coverage transferred onto a recording material.

摘要： A fixing device includes a heating rotation body, a heat source and a pressurization member. The heating rotation body has an endless peripheral surface that moves circularly. The heat source heats the heating rotation body. The pressurization member is in pressure-contact with the peripheral surface of the heating rotation body to press a recording medium, which passes through a nip between the pressurization member and the heating rotation body, against the peripheral surface of the heating rotation body. The pressurization member includes a base material and plural layers deposited on the base material. A volume resistance of a surface layer forming a surface of the pressurization member is larger than that of a layer disposed just below the surface layer. The layer disposed just below the surface layer is grounded.
