    摘要: A method for defining and managing a composite service group for a cluster based computer system is disclosed. The method includes instantiating a plurality of application units on a cluster based computer system, wherein the application units implement a business service. The method further includes receiving a composite service group definition, wherein a composite service group enumerates application units, out of the plurality of application units, that implement the business service, and generating a consolidated status of the composite service group. The business service is then started (online)/stopped (offline)/migrated/failed-over/failed-back in accordance with the consolidated status, as a single unit, by using the composite service group.

One such method involves initiating failover of a first service group from a first cluster site to a second cluster site. The first service group includes one or more resources of an application. The method then involves initiating failover of the dependent service group from the first cluster site to the second cluster site.

    摘要: A computer-implemented method for determining the healthiness of nodes within computer clusters may include (1) identifying a computer cluster that includes a plurality of nodes configured to provide substantially continuous availability of at least one application, (2) identifying at least one operating system kernel installed on at least one of the nodes, (3) configuring the operating system kernel to (a) asynchronously monitor performance of the node and (b) determine, based at least in part on the node's performance, whether the node is sufficiently healthy to execute the application, (4) receiving a notification from the operating system kernel that indicates that the node is not sufficiently healthy to execute the application, and then (5) performing at least one action configured to enable the computer cluster to provide substantially continuous availability of the application despite the unhealthy node. Various other systems, methods, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
