Abstract:
A fundus camera favorably performing focusing on a fundus of an examinee's eye without a black dot plate in a target projection optical system comprises an illumination optical system comprising a light source and an objective lens, a photographing optical system comprising a focusing lens movable in the optical axis direction and a diopter correction lens to correct a diopter of severe ametropia, a first moving mechanism comprising a first driving unit moving the focusing lens, a focus detection optical system comprising a projection optical system comprising a light source and a photo-receiving optical system comprising a photodetector, a second moving mechanism comprising a second driving unit moving a part of the detection optical system including at least one of the projection light source and the photodetector in the optical axis direction, a monitor, and a control unit controlling the second unit in conjunction with movement of the focusing lens.
Abstract:
A method for promoting expression of a heat shock protein, or for inhibiting cell injury or cell death, or for treating a disease for which cell or tissue protection is desired, or for promoting production of IL-10, or for inhibiting production of IL-8, by administering an effective amount of a fraction containing a hyaluronic acid tetrasaccharide comprising four saccharide residues and having certain physicochemical properties or by administering an effective amount of an isolated and substantially pure tetrasaccharide of formula (1) described in the application. Methods for preserving an organ.

Abstract:
A fundus camera capable of favorably obtaining a photographed fundus image and an observation fundus image, has an optical system having an objective lens and a diaphragm at a conjugate position with a pupil relative to the lens, for performing visible photographing and infrared observation via the lens and an aperture of the diaphragm, an optical system for illumination with visible and infrared light via the lens, a first plate, with a first black dot to cover an aperture image and at a conjugate position on an optical path with a position where a virtual image is formed relative to a lens surface reflecting the visible light, and a second plate, with a second black dot to cover an aperture image and in the vicinity of a conjugate position on the path with a position where a virtual image is formed relative to the surface reflecting the infrared light.
Abstract:
A fundus photographing apparatus has an optical system including a movable focusing lens and photographing a fundus, an optical system photo-receiving by a first image pickup element a target from an alignment target projection optical system and detect an alignment state of the photographing optical system with respect to an eye based on a result by the first element, a detection optical system photo-receiving by a second image pickup element a target from a focus target projection optical system and detect a focus state adjusted by moving the lens based on a photo-receiving result by the second element, a unit controlling a light source to successively emit flash light at predetermined intervals in a predetermined period to perform fluorescent photographing, and a unit controlling movement of the photographing optical system with respect to the eye based on a result by the alignment detection optical system during the predetermined period.
Abstract:
A method for producing an N-acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide, comprising the steps of: adjusting a sulfate group content of keratan sulfate; allowing an enzyme having an ability to cleave a glycosidic linkage of keratan sulfate to act on the keratan sulfate with the adjusted sulfate group content to obtain a sulfated N-acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide; and completely desulfating said sulfated N-acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide.
Abstract:
A keratan sulfate oligosaccharide which comprises from two to five sugar units and has sulfated N-acetylglucosamine at the reducing end and in a molecule of which at least two hydroxyl groups are sulfated, preferably, which contains at least disaccharide represented by the formula Gal(6S)-GlcNAc(6S) (in the formula, Gal, GlcN, Ac, and 6S represent a galactose, a glucosamine, an acetyl group, and a 6-O-sulfate ester, respectively) as a constitutional ingredient, and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are used as active ingredients of anti-inflammatory agents, antiallergic agents, immunomodulators, cell differentiation inducers, and apoptosis inducers.
